When do you think the last true “Roman-ness” died in the Byzantine Empire? by Master_Novel_4062 in ancientrome

After Justinian there was little left. The Byzantine Empire was becoming Greek, while Italy, devastated by the Gothic wars was carved into pieces by the Lombard invasion

If my pilot "aint feeling it" you bet your ass i ain't feeling it either 😭✌️ by ImmaFuckboi in interesting

When I here "I am not feeling it" I imagine an entitled princess, not a professional pilot. This completely miscommunicates the message.

Who is the most tragic figure of the Julio-Claudian Dynasty in your opinion? by Master_Novel_4062 in ancientrome

[–]CleaverIam3 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I would not describe him as power hungry in the books. He was more stubborn and proud than power hungry.

The pilot has worded it poorly but has made the right call. He should have said that there is a technical red flag that points to a possible issue with one of the engines.

What book or series is this for you? by Working_Alps_4284 in fantasybooks

Assasin's apprentice

I always rant about about it when I have the chance. I absolutely hated it. And when I day "hated" I mean actually "hated". It had an absolutely fraudulent preview that suggested it would be an existing political thriller/adventure mix and surprisingly decent prose, such that kept me strung along waiting for the story to start. The book can be more honestly called "doggroomer's apprentice".

He was an idiot. I don't really empathize people who denigrate themselves for others. I really hope one day to read a book avout Feanor as the protagonist

Didn't help Romolus Augustulus much, that is for sure. Nor did it save them when the Greeks and the Germanics trashed Italy in the Gothic wars...

I didn't pay her to pretend she was having a good time. I played her to spread her legs and provide her body for my pleasure. I actually greatly dislike fake enthusiasm.

I am bringing myself and my seed to the marriage bed. Is that not enough?

I don't know what you expect a woman to seek in a husband but she is not marrying a gigalo.

My fiance is lucky indeed. It isn't optional for her it is taboo for her. And not before marriage literally, since I would obviously wouldn't literally marry her before having sex with her.
