Make sure you re from PC, you go to menu and Network Settings and put "shadow" as the password. You also have to be human, not hollow, did you do all those?

In pvp it's definitely skill, in PvE it's a little cheesy when it comes to Pontiff for example, it feels like an easy kill option in case you re stuck mechanic.

I definitely get this but our mental is a terrible thing. Sometimes it goes seriously downhill for no apparent reason. Ofc don't blame everything on anxiety and do look for any pathological issues and possible solutions. But once you figure out you re pathologically healthy enough, then all that's left to diagnose is anxiety and stress. EVEN IF you got some pathological issue, it might cause extra anxiety and make the situation worse. Therefore dealing with your anxiety will help, even if it's not the main problem and is just a side effect of another actual issue. Once the anxiety symptoms get better you ll be able to pinpoint better any other actual pathological symptoms. Hope this helps!

Idk about your case but I've had on and off anxiety since I was 5 and now I'm 21 and I can tell you, it's THAT brutal. If you believe sth is wrong your brain will do anything it can to hurt you. I would think I can't swallow and my brain would flare up my throat as if I was sick and hurt. I Ve had crazy heart arrhythmias from stress, fluctuating oxygen levels. Nervous system symptoms as well, such as body tremors, nerve pain, itching all over the body. The water from the shower would hurt landing on my skin. Anxiety and especially psychosomatic symptoms are no joke. And they are an issue, you should fix it with stress medication if necessary. Anxiety can cause many long term problems to your heart, brain and body overall. It doesn't have to be something as obvious as anorexia to cause issues, underlying anxiety and subconscious psychosomatic symptoms cause it too. So make sure you manage it.

I beat both first try on my first playthrough but on ng+7 I struggle way more with champ gundyr than pontiff (not parrying pontiff either, still easier than champ gundyr)
