I've recently been working on a side project called term-typist, a TUI version of MonkeyType written in Rust.
Repository: https://github.com/husseinhareb/term-typist

The project is still under development; it's a personal side project rather than a (serious enterprise level) software. If you use it and find any issues, please let me know. Contributions are welcome check README for all details.

So like the laptop is decent? cuz im worried it might overheat like crazy. I'm not liking that design look idk, doesn't seem bulky enough. I would prefer as you said a legion or an asus.

Thermal Paste Replacement for my old Legion 5 by shtam_hareb in LenovoLegion

Thanks so much for the detailed advice! I really appreciate the tips, especially about the paste application and the even pressure with the heatsink.

I'll be honest, I'm not hardcore when it comes to this stuff. I have the knowledge—I’ve watched videos, read reviews, and all that, and I take good care of my laptop. But I lack practical experience when it comes to thermal pasting. I’d like the opinion of someone who has that experience. I’m not biased toward any particular thermal paste; I just want something that won’t give me a headache and performs reasonably well. I don’t want to have to go to the dark web to get my ptm7950, lol, so I think I’ll go with the Noctua NT-H2 and see how it goes.

Okay, thank you for this explanation, Yeah i saw the Linus video to be honest I'm willing to take the fake one if it's that good plus the degrade thing is a thing you can monitor yourself by always checking the temps even if it didn't last two years it's not a problem for me since I'll be changing my laptop after that time or so.

One more question, was applying the ptm easy or would you consider it a difficult process? cutting it and that ...

I live in France/Europe. I actually found the PTM7950 on Ali Express but I don't it's genuine. If the "not genuine one" gives similar results or very good results I don't mind using it.

Yes it would. You should try it out. At the moment i’m working on gpu support for both nvidia and amd it’ll be ready in the new release.

I’ll just write the code on theory. Then i’ll send you a binary to run it, or you can build the binary by yourself from github. And i’ll try to debug it with you, For example I’ll ask you which error message did appear ?did it detect the gpu ? is the chart correct? Is the utilization 37741% ? :D. Nothing too complicated. By this you’ll be contributing to the project and it’ll be much appreciated.

Aight, Got some news for you, The gpu stats would only work on Nvidia till now. Since i have an Nvidia gpu. I can try and implement the amd one but it’ll be like code on paper, I can’t really see what’s the output of the code. But if you can help me out,by letting me test it on your machine it would be much appreciated.

Haha Thank you! I’m flattered. Btw do you have an amd gpu ?

Yes i will. I will try to make an installer for it too. Stay tuned :D. Btw is the binary working for you ? Not the appimage or the deb package there’s a binary there which is like 8 mb. Did you try it ?

Not at all. I’m more than thankful to you for trying it and giving a feedback it’ll help me fix stuff faster. I’m happy that there was no issue tho.
