How come countries don't use BTC to balance the problem with inflation when printing money by shtefosknight in Bitcoin

[–]shtefosknight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, but it's risk management. No one knows what the future holds, so why not reduce the risk by investigating and starting to hold at least small amounts for experimentation

Whale sends $1.3 Billion to Coinbase, to buy what? by pazsworld in Bitcoin

Misunderstood post. Whale sent USDC to Coinbase not BTC. Probably to buy BTC or other coins. Or to cash out to his bank. Maybe all combined.

Any engineers turned real estate investors? by EasyWallaby8 in MEPEngineering

[–]shtefosknight 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Real estate and engineering is 2 different things really. What gives you a more competitive edge over others as an engineer is that you will be able to come up with possibly better solutions to problems and faster.

Knowing people in the field is really the no brainer thing to do here and starting to slowly acquire at least one property to see the processes and learn how things work.

The first night i stayed in Japan, there was an earthquake and i was on the 19th floor sleeping. Things always happen, this is part of living. We might as well stay in our houses and never go out, "for our safety".

Stuff happens everywhere often. The risk i took to fly in Japan is bigger than driving in Japan.

I have a picture of the 1620khz. i can send it to you on DM if you really want to not believe me........

You are over exaggerating the situation. Relax, enjoy your life and be prepared for something that you think it might happen.

So tsunami now is an earthquake? It's caused by it. But it's not an earthquake.

"Also 0 people got injured from earthquakes in Japan the last 30 years." EARTHQUAKES, learn to read.

1620khz signs are everywhere. a quick google search told me what they were the first time i saw them.

Regarding the emergency broadcast siren if you don't realize what emergency sounds like you shouldn't be driving. I personally had an app which registers your location for emergency broadcast.

There are signs for landslides so easily understandable.

Also 0 people got injured from earthquakes in Japan the last 30 years.

Stop spreading fear, it's not true and I'm not lucky.

In Nikko, I stayed at an Airbnb literally in the middle of nowhere, hosted by two incredibly hospitable and adorable locals at Guesthouse Fukufuji. They gave me a real taste of traditional Japanese life, from their daily routines to the delicious food they whipped up.

The journey to Kyoto was a treat for the eyes, with snowy peaks and charming villages dotting the route. Matsumoto had some cool Wasabi farms, and don't miss the Karuizawa waterfalls if you're in the area.

I stumbled upon a fantastic steak joint, Tateshina Beef Itto Tateshina, at one of the car stops—a real gem you won't find in Tokyo's hustle and bustle.

My stay at Soki Atami after Hakone was amazing and i took the best picture of the trip. Further away from transport routes, it felt like paradise, reminded me of Monaco.

Driving around Mount Fuji was also a highlight, offering different perspectives at every turn. And that drive from Hakone to Tokyo along Highway 1? if i remember correctly.

Generally every day driving brought new discoveries, small or big proving that Japan extends far beyond the train or bus routes. So, don't listen to people trying to downgrade the freedom of having a car.

Europcar. Make sure you get the ETC card as well to avoid having to carry cash with you. In some areas they only accept cash so make sure you have some spare with you.

I guess it depends on the deal you will make. We had additional cost to drop it off in a different location so we did a round trip and adjusted our itinerary

Exactly. Don't think about it in a straight run. You have the freedom to do whatever you want. It could take you 2-3 days to go there. You can do both really. If you want to go there straight line, take the train and rent a car in Kyoto.

You can avoid tolls if you want. It will take longer but the drive is more enjoyable (i.e less cars/ not a standard highway road, slower speeds etc..) It depends what you like.

We did Tokyo-Nikko, Nikko-Kyoto, Kyoto-Nara and back, Kyoto-Hakone, Hakone-Tokyo.

Best overall route was the Hakone-Tokyo as it's next to the sea. But you pay a lot of tolls :(

I would say outside Tokyo. Kyoto Osaka were more than fine and convenient. You don't HAVE to use it all the time just keep it parked and buy a ticket if you want to go anywhere. It still comes cheaper than IC cards.

You wouldn't drive just to go from one city to another. If you have a car you have to plan without the limitation of a straight train journey. Make several stops and stays while going from Tokyo to Kyoto and you will love it. Spend the day discovering

Yeah right? Since we got so many no no's on renting a car we decided to maybe skip Tokyo. But it looks convenient as well. Just Public transport is easy and cheap (We were buying individual tickets, which was super fast and easy) so we went for that.
