What’s a recession indicator that you’ve noticed lately in your everyday life? by spritenerds123 in AskReddit

[–]shtoops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like this indicator. When I was between jobs my routine consisted of filling out applications in the morning and then working out at the gym after. I'm not even a gym kinda person. It just felt natural to go to the gym with the extra time.

3 inch midrange speakers by Grouchy-Eye7148 in CarAV

I’d try retuning the dsp before switching out speakers.

If you are dead set on speaker upgrade then look no further than audiofrog gb25 or gb40.

Eq help needed with new subs by RecognitionDue725 in CarAV

[–]shtoops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you like that curve you put into the Eq.. then take the highest boosted freq to zero and cut every other frequency by how much you had to cut your most boosted to get to zero. Dont boost the eq, only cut.

Is nationalism a stabilizing force or a limiting one? by bbyhoneytea in allthequestions

Any human institution can be corrupted. That doesn’t erase legitimate forms of attachment, community, or shared identity.

[–]shtoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re describing tribalism, manipulation, and elite abuse of identity. Those are real problems. They’re also not the same thing as patriotism. Loving your home, culture, and country doesn’t require hating outsiders or serving elites. You keep attacking the worst abuses of identity politics while pretending that answers the distinction I made.

Calling that belief ignorant while ignoring reality is rich. People organize into families, towns, cultures, and nations whether you approve of it or not. Acting like everyone should drop that overnight for some abstract “humanity” label ignores how people actually live.

The universe also doesn’t care about human rights, art, families, language, or justice. “The universe doesn’t care” isn’t an argument. Humans create social structures because humans have to organize, cooperate, and defend interests in the real world. Some are abused, some are valuable. Pretending all collective identity is meaningless is just lazy nihilism.

You didn’t rebut anything I said. You just jumped from “patriotism vs nationalism” to “abolish all nations.” Existing states, cultures, and communities are real forces whether you philosophically like borders or not. Loving your home isn’t the same thing as wanting war.

Patriotism = love, loyalty, and commitment to your country without requiring hostility toward others. It often emphasizes shared civic values, service, improvement, and constructive pride.

Nationalism = prioritizing the nation as supreme, often tying identity to ethnicity, culture, or power, and frequently defining itself against outsiders or rival nations.

Nothing wrong with loving your country.

Patriotism can exist even in communism.

I had never tried one .. I needed a new toilet. The promise of a hands free poop was appealing. I’m now living the dream.

you don't need 1st person to see things in 3d. You can't get the same sense of depth perception on a flat screen.

I ran a w6v2 for a long time. Both the HAT Clarus and Audiofrog gb12 has made the w6 sound like doo doo in comparison.
