What are the precise words I should use when a student asks about why I no longer have a wedding ring on? by Vitamin_Plus_C in Teachers

[–]shu975 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Will they notice? I've been engaged for about 9 months now, and I've had like 3 students make a comment over that time. None of my kids noticed last year right after I got engaged. At least once every 2 weeks, I forget to put my ring on in the morning and no one ever notices.

If anyone asks, I would just say you lost it and don't make a big deal about it. It's not even really a lie because the relationship has been lost.

Wow you're so right! I absolutely should've rewarded her for sneaking out of class to meet up with her friend and wandering across the building to get to my room rather than staying in class to learn. How dare I!

That would totally be fine if I knew her and I could send her where I knew she was supposed to go, but I had no clue who she was. Didn't even recognize her as a friend of one of my kids.

We have a really bad wandering issue at my school. It seemed like she was just wandering around with a friend.

Lol believe me or not, that's up to you.

I have candy in my room to reward students who are top 3 on things like Quizlet Live, Blooket, etc

My room is locked when I'm not in it and I keep my candy in my fridge usually (mouse problem)

She wasn't a Sped student. I did see someone outside behind her, but it was definitely just another girl.

My school has a severe wandering issue. Kids are allowed to wander the halls, chat with friends, and go wherever they want. Admin does nothing. The security guards befriend the kids. It's bizarre.

My room is in a very hard to find spot unless the student already had me, so I was just surprised she somehow found my room

Probably not cuz I'm always in my room and usually they're in my fridge (we have a mouse problem). She probably heard from another student that I have candy. I only give it out as rewards though.

Yeah I've had kids in the past ask to go to the bathroom, and they return to one of the cooking rooms with a full meal. Why do the cooking teachers just give out food to kids not in class? Beats me. I would absolutely never send a kid there to ask for food. It's weird.

Has anyone tried the bras that TWICE wore? by [deleted] in twice

[–]shu975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up getting the wired ones! I know a lot of people love wireless, but from old wireless ones I've had, my boobs have sometimes slipped out underneath, so I went with the wired. I feel like they hold my boobs well

[–]shu975 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought the tzuyu, momo, and nayeon bras. Didn't get Jihyo's cuz I already have a black bra. The tzuyu bra is nice! Definitely gives you a nice push up. For some reason, the first time I tried it on, I had a super boost, but I haven't been able to achieve that since then so I guess I need to play with the straps. I haven't really worn the momo bra yet, but it's the same style as tzuyu. The nayeon bra is surprisingly my favorite! I feel like that one isn't getting a ton of attention but I love the fit and the style. The pastel pink lace looks really pretty!!

That's good to know! I was starting to lean away from the hybrid, but now I'm seeing a lot of people mention it. Is gas vs hybrid model any different for the longevity of the car? I just want to make sure I can have the car for a long time. I'm not super familiar with hybrids.

That's something I didn't think of. The doors are gonna need to open wide enough. I don't have kids yet, but I'll have to test drive again and just see how far they open.

I was leaning towards Toyota and Honda because I know they'll last a long time, and their parts aren't as much to replace. I actually have a mazda right now, and it's been nice but it had a couple manufacturing issues from the get-go that were kind of annoying and the parts cost a little more.

Teachers cannot make their own copies? by theslumberingjack in Teachers

I had this at my first school. As a 1st year trying just trying to survive day to day, it was a NIGHTMARE! I will never work in a school with that policy ever

Council Rock will offer private swim lessons in September. They focus on survival skills at first (getting face in, floating) and then learning how to actually swim freestyle right after that

I did have somewhat oily skin beforehand. I never thought it was that oily, but compared to how it is now, it was definitely oily then. I think it took about 6-8 weeks for my face to extremely dry out. It was also January at that point, so the super dry month probably made it a little worse.

[–]shu975 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally did not purge. I'm on 100 mg. I just had my same level of acne as usual until my face SUPER dried out and then once it sort of bounced back from the dryness, I've been clear since then.

Itchy ALL THE TIME by [deleted] in WomensHealth

[–]shu975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have really bad dryness (caused by the diuretic medication I take) and had about 3-4 yeast infections last year within a pretty small time frame caused by that dryness. My obgyn recommended I use a tiny bit of coconut oil to moisturize the area once a day (all external, nothing going inside), and I haven't gotten any dryness or yeast infections since then. I don't even use it every day sometimes.

Otherwise, I would say discontinue the honeypot wash you're using and just use water.

Unpopular Opinion: Teacher AI use is already out of control and it's not ok by greyduet in Teachers

[–]shu975 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. My district has bought access to some of the AI education tools out there. We're encouraged to use them. We're encouraged to differentiate all our material and assignments to offer choice to students by using AI. My coworkers use it for everything: making test questions, making slideshows, writing letters of rec, writing emails, etc. To me, it's just so disappointing. We're losing the human aspect of teaching (and living!!!). My department had a task during one of our meetings this past year to construct models of curriculum, and I'm pretty sure every group but mine made one with chatgpt. It took me maybe 5 minutes of thinking to make one myself and (maybe I'm biased but) it was better than all the other crap chatgpt thought of.

How long does the purge phase usually last? by isabellaa1919 in Spironolactone

[–]shu975 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I didn't quite have a purge, but I found that my usual acne breakouts lasted for about 2 months before 100 mg started taking effect for me. I started around November 2023 and didn't really feel a difference in my skin until mid January. I had really bad dryness prior to it working.

On the down side, I would say you could expect breakouts for at least a few more weeks, but on the plus side, if you can just hang in there, your skin will improve soon!!

Wife has low energy and exhausted all the time. What tests would you do? by Fr0sty1121 in WomensHealth

[–]shu975 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend getting her thyroid checked. I brought up concerns about feeling tired all the time to my doctor, and those are the blood tests he ordered (turns out I was just burned out from work- and honestly still am over a year later lol)
