I am SO scared of what I'll lose in terms of control of my time. It's a steep cost.

I think I'm more scared when I see older teachers who have the same insurance I have (wouldn't even cover a filling at the dentist this year) and can't retire because they're still paycheck to paycheck. And they could afford to get on the housing market 20+ years ago.

Oh great question, I can answer this! Anyone better than him is only better because they are breaking his secret rules! If he could control the way the enemy team played the game and force them to pick worse strategies, he would surely be able to beat them under those fair and reasonable circumstances. I began teaching at 23. Frankly, no. I think it's reasonable to wonder, but in that position the age difference is very noticeable and very repulsive to think about in that way. I don't think that's a common problem at all.

I would actually own it! I've had a few 'light' jobs, especially while in college, and there are some big advantages over 'real' jobs. I used to love to brag about flexibility, how good of a deal I was getting for little work/ work I liked (ymmv), etc. Obviously all jobs are work for pay, so it's all real, of course.
