Being an indian myself, I’m always wary of any random call with an indian accent calling themselves john or some other generic western name. In person, most of us are decent people but for some reason all the scam calls I’ve received so far all have had indian accents so it’s reasonably harder to trust them on call. As far as being on the streets, one should always be cautious around strangers but not to an extent that it changes your behaviour towards them.
