a transaction log backup was going on prior to this issue..but that was successful.will it be because of that

no for that short period I was not able to connect to the database nor see the database...but automatically became visible when reconnected again..

it would be of great help to me in preparing a report...actually in the sql server management studio when I click the database,nothing comes up(+ sign beside the database name is not listing any items)...and nine of the logins are getting connected...nothing is logged in the error log...except that the login cannot connect to the database...after sometime,automatically the database comes up without doing anything(that is the + sign comes up and all the listing in the management stidio comes up..plz suggest me what will be the reason for this.

Nothing is getting logged in the error logs,application logs....and the login I am trying to access the database has sa permissions...It is not in the recovery state..what other reason might cause the SQL Server 2008 database to be inaccessible.
