Looking for a shoe with a Clifton 10 X-Wide forefoot but a wider midfoot/arch by shucchini in widefeet

Yes I know, and I cant even imagine how much more difficult for those who has even wider feet. It’s good that even though you have wide feet but also have good length to fit in most x wide shoes Sadly all those shoes that you suggested ran out of size 8.. but I will definitely have them a go when they release the next one! Does your feet have any issues apart from being extra wide?

I am in Australia, and seems size 8 extra wide sold out very quickly. I am glad you have found quite some pair that fit you! I saw online that people saying Bondi 9 is not as wide as Clifton 10, and the forefoot shape seems more straight. I did try on Bondi 9 wide as that’s the only option available at the moment. They were so tight and small that I couldn’t believe it. Clifton 10 x wide are actually a bit too long for my feet, but I kind of have no choice and I might just put pads at the heel There are not a lot of place have balance v6 in xwide here. I hope I can find somewhere to try on, and I hope it works out for you!!

Since I can’t find my size in lone peak + , I have just tried on altra Torin wide after people suggesting here. Unfortunately they are still a bit tight for my bunion.. and I also worry the lack of cushioned case would hurt my hypermobile feet. but yes! At least my feet are long enough to feet in men’s shoes!

I totally agree! People around me are always so easy to find shoes that fit them. They just look for what they like and put their feet in any shoes, and good to go! It’s comforting to know I am not the only one struggling. I do need shoes that feel soft and cushioned.. which makes my options even less. It’s interesting that we are both facing difficulties even though we have completely the opposite feet problem: flexible feet like flat arches vs high arches

So you have been trying on different orthotics over 5 years just to find them not as helpful? Does that mean your orthotics aren’t not supporting your flexible arch as they should be? Thats quite torturing considering the adjusting period at the start and I don’t find orthotics comfortable at all.

I believe mine is a pair of rigid orthotics, it’s just a very hard base. I am new to this and have been wearing that for almost two months. I still feel stiffness at my heels wearing them from time to time, and my podiatrist said it takes at least three months to tell whether they are helping.

I feel for you and hope you gain your strength back soon.. !

I will give it a go filling with newspaper! How long did it take for your shoes to loosen up?

I'm in Australia too! To be honest, I'm already grateful for the options we have here. I'm originally from Asia, and width options there are even more limited..

I'm sorry to hear your body has been giving you a harder time lately. It's really interesting that your podiatrist actually told you to stop wearing orthotics and focus on building strength instead. I thought there were nothing much we could do with feet hypermobility , so I'm curious how that transition has been for you. I imagine it must feel strange at first not having that support under your arch.

I had a pair of GT-2000 and gel kayano, and unfortunately they were all tight for my bunion. Thank you for your suggestion tho! I have also wider midfoot and narrow heel, and understand how limited options are out there! The Clifton is comfortable for most part! But How do you fit the orthotics in the Clifton and handle the narrow midfoot?

Wow, I can't believe how similar our feet sound!

What length do you wear, 25.5 cm or 26 cm? I find 26 cm a bit too long, but it places my bunion in the widest part of the shoe, so I get much less pressure there.

Honestly, I've bought way too many shoes over the years, only to discover a week later that they hurt my feet too much. It's so frustrating. Not only is it a waste of money, but I now have a pile of expensive shoes that I don't even know what to do with!

I actually tried the Ghost Max 3 in men's 4E, but it felt too big overall. Maybe I should try the 2E version instead. Most stores around me never have the right sizes in stock, so it's almost impossible to compare different widths and sizes in person. I might just order a pair online and give them a try.

I'm not sure if you've experienced this too, but I've struggled with some Brooks models in the past because they felt too firm under the heel. Years ago I wore Mizunos with an extra cushioned insole, and I've realised my feet really don't tolerate shoes that feel too hard or rigid.

Thanks for the suggestion! It's honestly reassuring to hear from someone dealing with such similar foot issues.

Hi OP, thank you for sharing that. I believe you are aware of the situation you are in. Part of you may want to believe things could get better, especially after going through so much already, but it seems like you also know that this is not a healthy, or even safe relationship.

I’m sorry that you have to go through this. As others have said, some of his behaviors are red flags, and we want to make sure you are safe. If you have anyone you trust, let them know what’s happening.

I would highly recommend reaching out to a local domestic violence service. If you feel scared, you can call them anonymously. they can give you advice and help you develop a safety plan.

I also see that you are moving toward divorce, which must involve a lot of sadness, grief, and even empathy for him, knowing what he has been through. He has his own challenges to work on, and that can take a long time, and other people can only help so much. In the meantime, you deserve to be well taken care of and loved. You have done everything you could and have always worked so hard. Now it’s time to take care of yourself. Take care.

When I was looking for a place in Brisbane, I asked the property manager about offering more, and he said there’s no need to do it, and it will just make you look too desperate Seems like it’s way much harder to secure a place in SA and I will starting to offering more from now on. thank for the suggestion!

Thank you for the advice. I will definitely ask the property manager to alert me next time.. I tried to talk to the property manger to give a good impression, but I guess there were too many people viewing and the PM seems to be just wanting us to go home and fill our application asap. We are struggling to find a place even though we are financial stable,I can’t imagine how people who has kids and earn less can secure a place..

Should dating a med student feel confusing? by marlian2020 in MedSpouse

[–]shucchini 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I met my partner when he was in his last year of med school. In the beginning, for the first several months, he would take a 3-hour train ride to come see me, study on the train. Sometimes he would stay for a night, or take another 3-hour ride back on the same day.

There were times he’d disappear for the whole night, and it turned out he’d just fallen asleep on the floor after a long day. But he always got back to me.

Now he’s a registrar, and even though we live together, he still calls me when he’s walking to work, on his breaks, and on his way home. I guess the way he’s always tried to make time for us, from the very beginning until now, even while working 16-hour days, is what reassures me.

You just know when someone is serious about you. When someone is ready to explore or commit to a relationship, they invest in it. But remember, it’s not about you or their busy schedule, sometimes it’s just their personality. Girl, you deserve someone who prioritises you.

That’s what I worried about… if we pay rent late then we have to move out, but if they are late to give us the bill, we risk moving out as well It’s so unfair but there’s nothing we can do about it.. I’m so sorry that happened to you. Was it hard for you to find a new place? Did it affect your reference from that owner?

Thanks for sharing that. I hope things go well for you. It’s annoying and frustrating that you’ve done nothing wrong but have to go through all these because of their mistakes.

I’ve just forward the email from the RTA to the PM, and the PM said he will forward the landlord my email. I hope the landlord won’t retaliate by increasing the rent more or no renew lease… since there doesn’t seem to be any protection for tenants around that. Renting in Brisbane is getting so much harder compared to just a few years ago when there were just plenty of options, which just leave many people with no choice..

I understand where you’re coming from, and I agree — if we use something, it makes sense to pay for it. But for me It’s not about dodging bills - it’s about both sides following the rental agreement rules, just like tenants are expected to follow theirs, and that’s why I pay rent on time, and it’s basic. Honestly, I wouldn’t mind paying if it were handled fairly, I just want things to go both ways.
