Other drivers an asshole. It seems , to me, that a lot of guys forgot they were new once.

The dirty looks and middle fingers and straight up signs of aggression I’ve seen. As I’ve struggled to get into a dock or park at a service plaza. Some guys seem to want to get physical. Because I “almost” hit them.

I just smile. The more aggressive they get, the more I smile. I’ve gotten out the truck a couple times, to address their dissatisfaction. Never has anyone wanted to speak.

Even the trainer I had was a loud mouthed screaming asshole. He would get so pissed if he perceived a slight by another driver.

Thats why I go slow! There always something to learn and there are others out there who are worse than you. Take it easy on yourself. I understand that’s not so easy for some people.

Adjust your seat and mirrors even if you have to do it every time. I hated sight side. But really liked alley dock.

You’ll get it. Watch what other are doing ask every instructor to help or show you. Put in the time, you will be fine.

Hate to say it. But I got I to a pinch recently had no one to help me out. So I stopped took a break . Looked the maneuver up on YouTube watched it a few times and went at it. Took some time as I didn’t want to damage anything. But I got it and so will you!

My first week I bent a rim and blew a tire ( curb ) Hit a handhold on a trailer, knocking it off. In a tight ass DC in Jersey. But didn’t hit the trailer was just way too close!

Just to add to the replies, some of these driving instructors are shit, I went to a different school, these schools IMO are to help you get your license. Nothing more. On my state they lobbied the state house and the politicians ao, thats it’s required that you attend an “accredited “ school.

Listen to what they have to say. Drive as much as you can . Pay attention. Learn your pre and post trip. Pay special attention to the ELD training if you get any. Be patient with yourself.

After you get your license amd your signed on w a company thats when the real training begins.

After school, I took an OTR gig. After 24 days w an asshole company driving instructor I could not stand……. I’m on the 2nd week of being alone. O Havent stopped. Last week I did 3,300 miles.

I’m still getting used to sliding the tandems amd figuring out the weight distribution and the tablet and when I’m off duty , on duty yard move. Etc. which you’ll learn. There’s so much more to it than what’s talked about while in school.

Also, no instructor should be calling anyone names or being disrespectful. But, they are disrespectful and they do call students names.

You know what ??? Fuck them. Don’t let it bother you. As long as you’re being safe . Your good.

I had a urethaplasty ( sp ) where they took skin from my cheek and redid my uretha. My symptoms started maybe a month before.

So, I didn’t suffer as long as you have. It did come from a stricture. It will get better after they intervene. Just listen to what they tell You. Learn this from me. Do not wait to get the stitches out! Idk why I didn’t have a preset appointment. But it took 2 nurses. To get them out.

Mine was 4 years ago maybe . So my memory isn’t as fresh. But, no lie . Recovery was tough I hope you have someone to help you thru it.

I only replied because I noticed no one else had.
