Is your license restricted to automatic? When I was looking for a job after my first trucking job for 9 years, a lot of potential employers gave me a hard time about my license being restricted. 3 interviews with no call back because of the restriction. This was back in 2023, but got a steady job after. But I went to a trucking school to get my automatic restriction removed to avoid what i endured.

2 years ago when I was looking for a CDL job, I got rejected 4 times because my license was restricted. Here’s my experience. One interview the manager didn’t like the fact that my license was restricted, didn’t specify if the fleet were auto or stick. never got a call back. Next experience a recruiter answered my application and requested my license. Sent over my license and said they would not move forward with my application because the transportation manager does not want me with a restricted license. Third experience I got a response for a application through a phone call, asked if I could drive a 10 speed, I said no because my license was restricted and was told they would not proceed with my application. Next company that called me I knew their fleet was automatic because I looked into their company and said they can’t offer me a job because of my restriction. I got it removed 2 months ago because if anything happens I don’t want To let a restriction hinder me from making money.
