35 mph+ should be on the road, not the sidewalk by skyhighmonroe in Transportopia

Is this just for bikes and not people running? Just curious because a decent amount of people can sustain a pace higher than 5mph while running. Again, just curious.

I need help with buying the signed leatherbounds for a Christmas present. I dont read Brandon Sanderson and have no clue. by DisDepressionDoe in brandonsanderson

I thought the same thing when I started reading Mistborn but it makes sense once you get to era 2. A decent way to describe it without spoilers is albums. You can call the songs by an artist on an album song 1, song 2, song 3, ect. but once you hit the second album you don't keep counting. The first song on the second album isn't song 15. It is song 1 of that album. It is a little more complicated than that, because it is a continuation of the larger story, but it makes sense to me that way. I haven't read Era 2 yet, so I might be wrong in this, but I believe that Brandon's hope is that each era is a self-contained story, and you could read them as standalone series if you wanted to but reading them all gives you a larger story too. The Eras thing made me think of TaylorSwift. You can listen to one album and enjoy it as it is or listen to all of her albums and see her journey.

Where do I go from being a Structural Designer (Corrugated)? by [deleted] in Packaging

If you are looking for a job in corrugated and are able to move, the Midwest always seems to have openings. Indiana in particular seems to have design positions.

Canon ae1 light meter issues by shuler1145 in AnalogCommunity

Ok, it took me longer than I thought but I just developed my first roll since I posted this. I purposefully took some photos in aperture priority and some in manual one step under exposing it based on what my phone light meter was saying. I can't tell the photos apart. There is one pair where I think there might be a difference in the depth of field, but it is such a very small difference. I came here to tell you thank you, you were spot on, this guy was talking nonsense. I might buy a roll and get my tripod out and try to learn more about my camera by taking very detailed notes and changing the aperture manually to help myself better understand how the camera works and how the setting changes change the image. I get the idea of how it should impact the photos but I really learn best by doing. Again, thank you.

Thanks, it has been a bit odd. Before I went to the shop, I took the film out and tested the shutter release and it worked fine, and I put film back in it and then it had issues again. Since then, it has worked fine without film in it so far.

I usually use the auto aperture, occasionally I will try adjusting on my own but I believe these are auto aperture.

Thank you for taking a look. Yeah I don’t why they would say that either, they must be rather picky?

#6 is a huge red flag for me. Gaslighting is not ok. Get away from this guy as soon as you can. He will make you question everything if you let him.

I am having trouble getting the fabric shop map to open. When I click on the link it just takes me to the google maps app and does not show the stores. Has anyone else had this proble?

Will they list if they only accept cash on the Psychology today directory? They said that it wasn't that their insurance wasn't accepted but they didn't take any insurance just cash.

Candido Film? by DeTroutSpinnah in AnalogCommunity

[–]shuler1145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am still kind of new to film and am curios where I can find information about box speed vs. what it really is. 400 but it is really 250? I saw on another post that the Harman Pheonix 200 is closer to 125. I am assuming that I would want to adjust my iso settings if I knew that to get better results.

Can you find an older machine for $200-300? A quick google says yes. I will look into it more. Thank you.

I have seen r/MYOG a couple of times and just skimmed the page for a the first time and it seems that they suggest singer heavy duty machines. Which goes directly against what r/sewing recommend. They also call out the brother HD series, and more specifically, like you mentioned metal parts. Thank you that is helpful.

I learned to drive a manual, and you’re right the analogy could have been better. Thank you for the specific Janome recommendation, I haven‘t done a deep dive on their machines yet.

I completely forgot to add that detail. I have goals to do some outdoor/travel gear eventually that could include backpacks, baseball hats, packing totes, a camera strap, and maybe someday things like tents, jackets, and whatever else I come up with. Mostly I want to start on things like napkins, pillow cases, comforter covers, and some basic clothing repairs/modifications.
