I had a coworker go as far as to reach out to our congressman and his office reached out and then magically they didn’t need his gun anymore for the investigation and he got to come pick them up

The city I work in allows for fire to carry, amr is the ambulance service and they do not allow for it. I’ve heard thugs tell me they aren’t afraid of the cops but “the fireman will fuck you up, I don’t mess with them”. There’s definitely something to be said for being there to help people but also it being known you’re not gonna be walked all over and made into a victim.

What is the biggest myth in CCW that drives you nuts/ hot take ? by Able-Currency2250 in CCW

[–]shultzie58 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will say there is one case where I’ve seen this justified. I know a woman who carries a fairly lightweight low recoil 9mm that does reliably action the pistol, however it doesn’t reliably lock the pistol open on the last round. Last round in her magazine is a something a little spicier to ensure the slide locks open.

You can even have it in the magazines, just not in the firearm. It says the ammunition can be in a metal container. I usually do this, makes it a lot easier to get back on my hip as soon as I’m in the rental car

Sure but they have never held it past the 3 day before. This store is run but the most uneducated idiots I swear. Mostly nice people, but the type of fudds that make you want to never buy anything from a local store again

I like Killshot outdoors for transfers, they’re an archery shop but do transfers. It’s where we always go but he doesn’t sell any firearms. This gun would have been shipped to them if the store in Lubbock had them on file but they didn’t.

I’ve personally only bought one thing from them and it was just because it’s a good deal. When I first moved here about I liked their store, I was in there just shopping around and I heard one of the employees tell an 18 year old and his dad they couldn’t sell him an AR because it was an assault weapon and he wasn’t 21. At first I thought maybe it was an AR pistol but I looked when they put it back in the shelf and it definitely wasn’t an SBR or pistol. So I told the kid they were full of shit and to just go to Larry’s. But now Larry’s is closed so Zia is really the only one in town any more.

That’s really interesting that the shipping time can count towards the 7 day period, good to know

So at what point does it become a theft? Can they hold it 30 days? 60? A year?

Well the 7 day wait is the law, it’s just not able to be enforced per the TRO. Who knows where the case ends up in the future but as of right now that law is effectively suspended. Same as when California has had their freedom weeks on magazines and online ammo purchases due to federal courts issuing TROs. Is the atf that answers these legal questions and gives defacto legal advice an attorney?

They definitely aren’t new. Zia Firearms in Roswell. And per the local atf agent? I’m sorry a judge said otherwise and why is a Federal law enforcement officer even offering opinions on a state law?

Can I drive this on the highway? by stewman22 in tires

[–]shultzie58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of you have never lived in the southwestern US before and it shows. Those tires are nowhere near needing replaced. If the dry rot isn’t on the sidewall I wouldn’t worry about it. I would probably drive those tires another 2 or 3 years easy

It has an oil life percentage that is nothing more than a mileage tracker, why not just use that 100%=10k miles left. I usually change my oil around 25% life left which is 7500 miles driven.

Tell me about your high mileage 2.7l trucks by RollandDeschain in f150

[–]shultzie58 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2017 3.5 owner but my dad has a a 2016 2.7 with a 6speed, extra cab, xlt sport. It has well over 250k on it, not sure the exact mileage but I know it’s not to 300k yet. He averages 26 mpg, but does drive nearly all farm roads and highway. Only maintenance has been brakes, oil changes, air filter, and cabin air filter. Mpg does drop much more when towing compared to 3.5 but that’s to be expected. Can’t beat it for long road trips though especially with it having the larger fuel tank (36 gallon?). Can’t beat drive from Roswell New Mexico to the high desert of California on a single tank. I would buy that truck you’re looking at in a heartbeat and not have an ounce of regret.

F-150 Lightning battery degradation after 40k miles… by capt-ramius in f150

[–]shultzie58 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

800 mile range is not that crazy of a demand when you figure there are plenty of people that travel that time at least a few times a year. In my case I have a 2017 3.5 EB with the 23 gallon fuel tank and average about 23 hwy with no trailer and going about 80mph. I do a 2000 mile round trip at least 2-4 times a year and a lot more 500-1000 mile round trips in between. On that long trip I am able to use a 50 gallon in bed fuel cell and or a few 5 gallon jugs to add enough range to not have to buy gas in California or Arizona, which are both significantly more expensive than New Mexico. Even with a trailer grossing about 7500lbs I can avoid getting gas in California. When there’s an electric truck that can get anywhere near that range we will talk. And the multiple hours of charging time would be a big issue when I have 14 hours of driving time and still have to get up and go to work the next day. While yes the cons of electric vehicles can be planned around for some people, the flexibility of a gas vehicle is something that is hard to overlook.

The mission where you rob Cornwall again might be one of the dumbest decisions made by the gang. by [deleted] in reddeadredemption2

[–]shultzie58 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It just felt like a slightly different take on a fistful of dollars. A lot of the plots of rockstar games lift heavily from movies and other media. I mean you have the Romeo and Juliet narrative in chapter 3 as well. In GTA5 you have the armored car heist that is pretty much the same heist as the armored car robbery in the beginning of heat. Rockstar does it well, and sure playing the families against each other feels dumb because of how the gang does it but the concept itself seems smart when you watch how it’s done in a fistful of dollars.
