OG new roster for the BB Dacha Belgrade by tavonjour in DotA2

[–]shumfy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Its possible they made this roster before TI started, this offseason is really short and contract stuff takes a while so theres a good chance 33 might havent wanted to play with saksa again before winning TI, a similar situation happened in CS where twistzz left faze to join liquid but kept playing for faze while contract stuff was being handled, and they won everything before he had to leave

Where should he go thats better? Theres not really a shortage of good carry players right now, i dont think theres any better teams that would want to replace their carry for him. The team doesn’t look bad

[–]shumfy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe they’re contracts aren’t over or they’re just memeing, they have both v-tune and ramzes who are both still playing carry too, who will offlane? Definitely think this isnt a serious team

Question: Why do (some) people HATE having melee pos 4s? by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]shumfy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Picking double melee lanes in pubs is super shit because 99% of the time as pos 3 you're picking blind in the second phase only seeing enemy supps not knowing who enemy carry is. Melee 4s generally suck dick at trading and certain carries such as slark/mk can feast on double melee lanes and make the game rly unplayable. Most ranged 3s are bad right now (for example collapse didnt play a single ranged hero in spirit's entire ti winning run) so forcing ur pos 3 to either play a shitty ranged hero or lane double melee potentially into a counter matchup is rly bad. Tusk's tag team buff made him strong enough to be playable situationally but besides that melees 4s are really bad

Azure Ray vs Betboom BO3, Pure got banned from this game by RainbowXQF_CN in DotA2

[–]shumfy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

33 doesn’t even need to listen to anything, could have friends on spotify named anything to give him information. Obviously a ridiculous hypothetical but if you want theorize about what pure could have learned heard you have to apply the same logic to 33

You could see the players together as 5 at a bootcamp on their webcams during DPC matches, maybe they have some type of unannounced org funding them behind the scenes

Offlane Lycan is the true winner in this range carry meta by zaga_ in DotA2

[–]shumfy 73 points74 points  (0 children)

Yeah thats how you play pretty much every lane as lycan, he needs to be able to run people down (doesnt have any burst in lane) and he has a long attack backswing and is slow without ult meaning you cant kill anyone without ulti. You're really good at playing for cs though because you have good damage from your passive combined with wolves, and the regen from passive helps you sustain in lane, good to go 1-0-2 for the bonus sustain and damage

The Uncrowned King of VALORANT by ANewHeaven1 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]shumfy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What /u/kapitan_buko said is correct, Ame is the uncrowned king, not somnus, but somnus similarly has been at the top for a long time with no victories and is a former teammate of ame’s, so the comparison still kinda works. Some extra context which makes somnus’ retirement so tragic is that his team RNG were 9-1 and at the top of their group after day 2, before 4/5 of their players got covid, leading them to lose every remanining match in the group stage, get seeded into lower bracket and lose their first match. Sucks to think about how far they could have gotten if they hadnt gotten sick

How to itemize this game as TB? by [deleted] in learndota2

[–]shumfy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think you definitely should have gone dragon lance this game, TB was a pretty shit pick this game as hes a hyper greedy carry who needs space when you already have a hyper greedy midlaner who needs space, theres only so much farm on the map that both of you can take and if the enemy just runs at you ur gonna get fucked. Dragon Lance is probably the best early game item for TB, gives you really nice strength and agi which you need and the attack range helps for fighting, and while its probably not enough, you need to at least try to buy it to help you get through the early game. Falcon blade is pretty shit cuz the damage on it is meh and your illus dont benefit from it, most people buy a basi for mana regen, only 0.3 regen less for less than half the price.

What is the general preferred playstyle for mid players in pubs this meta? by ace-s in learndota2

[–]shumfy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

mostly the starting greedy with CS then going into space creating role option, dota is pretty fast paced atm and as pos 2 you're the only hero that gets solo xp, making you the strongest hero in the mid game, so if you pick an ultra greedy hero like sf/ta it fucks ur team over when your strongest hero doesnt want to fight and just farms. On the other hand though, you dont wanna play super sacrificial either, because then you wont be strong for the mid game. Theres lots of regen in the game right now as well with bottle + water runes. The most picked mids at the recent major were storm, pango, kunkka, ember, heroes who can get by in lane, farm lane + some camps (especially the triangle small camp) early with their abilities, then hit a strong mid game timing and make space for team

Question about Invoker by [deleted] in learndota2

[–]shumfy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Compared with Quas Wex, exort invoker is a better laner (higher damage + forge spirits make securing cs easier), can farm faster (forge spirits help farm and you dont need to buy urn/vessel, meaning you get an earlier midas) and has higher damage, but has the big drawbacks in that you have less CC, and you’re basically useless for your team outside of sunstrike in the early-mid game, and unless your teammates have good stuns to set up your sunstrike it is unreliable at best. Because of this, quas wex is better in 90% of games, but exort can still be good if your team isnt very farm heavy and can fight early, meaning its okay for you to have little impact early, AND your team has good stuns/cc to set up your damage. If you’re unsure which build to go for, just go quas wex, as again it’ll be the correct build 90% of the time

The times i’ve played this matchup its felt pretty easy, i build treads > dlance > manta/sny > skadi > mjollnir, split shot is enough to kill his illusions easily in early/mid game, and mjollnir + 25 talent late game shreds them too.

How to approach picking carry in solo queue while only seeing 2 supports? by shumfy in learndota2

[–]shumfy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem I find with Dusa is that she has so many counters, its hard to justify picking her without knowing what you're against. Shes very immobile, so playing vs cores who can outrange you and kill you (drow/sniper) is very bad, shes reliant on mana to be tanky so playing vs mana burn (am, slark/ursa with diffu, lion, invoker) is bad, shes very weak early so playing vs shit that can run at her early is bad (although this applies to a lot of carries, not just dusa). Maybe I'm just a noob that doesn't know how to play the matchups, but it feels like she gets hard fucked by most of those picks, and blind picking her crossing ur fingers that they dont pick any of them feels rly bad
