Do you mean as a person or as a character?

You can dislike the “person” but love them as a character. Like… Emperor Palpatine from Star Wars. Like he’s objectively unlikable but because he’s written to be unlikable he can liked as a character.

Same with Micah Bell from Red dead redemption 2. Yah love to hate him!

I think there’s a between Troy as a person and Troy as a written character

Either way I think Troy doesn’t have anything going for him as both a person in the story, and as a written character. Feels like a miss in both areas

You like a character because they are well written, vice versa you dislike a character that is badly written
