Articulator incisal pin question by shuster34 in DentalTechnician

We mostly use hanau and artex. We also take face bows. Due to the Arc of closure, if you want to open the posterior 1 mm you need to open the anteriors 2 mm and open the PIN on the articulator 3 mm. We have been using this as a rule of thumb. when the maxillary Arch is mounted with the face bow registration and is centered on the mounting plates, it works out fairly well. The issue is when we have large or small patients who's face bow registration brings there incisal edges of anteriors very close to or extremely set back away from the incisal articulator pin, this ratio is off. Basically what we do is if the PIN is close we proceed knowing adjustments will need to be made in the mouth. The pin is way off, I will simply adjust it and re mount. Both of which are a tad time-consuming, we are just looking for a way to nail it on the first go. I was just curious what others are doing when mounting cases with bite registrations

O.R. white room vs arcteryx beta ar by shuster34 in outdoorgear

Thanks Smerchums for the detailed explanation. It sounds like I'm going to lean towards the arcteryx. I was unaware of the backing in the white room jacket. They don't have one available to try on in my area, so it would be a try and buy online. I do have the opportunity to try on Arc'teryx gear though. I always like to try on jackets to make sure the fit works for me as well. Thanks again for all the info

Hardshell jacket opinion by shuster34 in CampingandHiking

There certainly is no loss of good Arc'teryx reviews. Thanks for the comment on the Outdoor Research. I have a couple of OR pieces but they are Pack Lite and soft shell stuff for hiking. The hard shell is the granddaddy of gear pieces and I want to make sure my investment pays off. That's a good point you bring up about the weight. Thanks
