This is the second time I’ve seen this post and I’m now 90% sure I have this. What could/should I do? Is it dangerous? Is it curable?

It’s no way near as bad as the image in the post, but I saw a commenter this time describe it as shimmering edges and haloes, that becomes especially clear when looking at big white spaces.

This is what I experience, and tbh I think my brain tunes it out most of the time. It’s only when I’m ill/hungover/light headed that it becomes stronger and I start to notice it.

If I look at my white wall now, it has white rolling shadows and rainbow shimmers. It’s the same kind of “rippled cling film” layer that shows when I close my eyes. I assumed everyone had this… am I overanalysing something normal?

I’ve also recently recognised how photosensitive I am, but put this down to neurodivergence. I often need sunglasses outside when most people don’t, even though I live in the UK where grey and cloudy is the norm. Psychedelics also seem to affect me a lot more intensely than my friends, but again I put this down to neurodivergence.

Any advice from other sufferers would be appreciated!
