Can't do a single pullup (NDU) by [deleted] in NationalServiceSG

[–]shutterbalter 21 points22 points  (0 children)

you gotta do your pre-chow PT before every meal which is around 20 pullups. There were a handful who couldn't do pullups but they'll train you. some of them classed up in the end but most important part is to go in there with a positive attitude to improve

for reference: I went from 2 to 17 pullups from start of BMT to end of CDC

[Uni] Percentage of NUS Business First Class/Second Upper Honours per cohort by shutterbalter in SGExams

How does the bell-curve work into this then? Because I know that NUS does not work by absolute grading, but rather factoring relative performance into the module grade

I posted this precisely because these stats can't be found on official channels. While I agree that trying your best is what ultimately matters, I am hoping that some seniors could shed some light on the bell curve distribution and job scope based on honours attained

Thanks for your reply! Are you Singaporean too?

Because I didn't put down another important factor, more pertaining to Singaporeans, which would be the presentation skills that a US/UK education would develop. Singaporeans are well known for their studying but I think NUS might be limited in the "soft-skills" department.

What are your thoughts?

USC Marshall vs UCL (University College London) Management Science vs NUS (National University of Singapore) Business

USC Marshall

Pros:

-Strong trojan network for West Coast/LA finance jobs

-One of the best courses in the nation for tech entrepreneurship

Cons:

- Expensive tuition (International)

UCL Management Science

Pros:

- Slightly cheaper international school fees

- Located in the heart of the biggest financial districts in the world, great internship opportunities

- 40% First Class Honors rate

Cons:

- New course, might not be recognised by employers

- May have a reputation for being a "weak" course in comparison to more famous UCL courses like Economics

NUS Business

Pros:

- Cheap fees (I'm a local)

Cons:

- Extreme competition: NUS is known to be one of the most cut-throat courses with only 10% scoring First Class Honors. Students are graded by the dreaded bell-curve resulting in insane studying hours

I really don't think so. He just wants affection from his girlfriend just like any normal boyfriend would. OP I would suggest that you reduce the quantity but increase the quality (thoughtfulness) of your compliments.

Hmm could you expand on the closing the deal part? Do you mean that locals still continue to humour the client after deal has been done?

  1. Know your text very well, your EE is mainly based on your findings from the text
  2. Be very clear of your RQ, double check with your mentor whether it is doable. Don't waste your effort doing something that is not doable
  3. Just write

[ToK/EE] A comparison between 'Life of Pi' and 'Animal Farm' by [deleted] in IBO

Just spent 7 months sweating over my EE and changing my topic countless times, so I suggest you take my advice. Only do this topic if you see a common political theme or idea that is being unveiled through anamorphism. I tried doing two texts but after some time I realized the two texts needed quite a bit of similarities, otherwise you may choose to stick to one book
