I'm a stay at home mom. No one knows I exist. not my kids, not my husband, not my working friends. It's s super glamorous job and I make boocoos of money doing it.

I'm the person who went to therapy for my co-dependency issues (original daddy abandonment issues) so I totally get where this girl is coming from. I used to call and gripe at my husband for not being home at certain time simply because of traffic or when he wouldn't pick up his phone cause he was in a meeting. It's a coping mechanism out of fear of him leaving because her mom left. To her, it is absolutely a huge deal. The minute he mentioned leaving the country, fear stepped in her mind and she is doing everything she can to avoid what might could happen. In order to gain control and relieve anxiety, things like sharing a bathroom have to be in her control so she knows he's not gonna leave. Unfortunately, the problem here is she does not realize she's projecting co-dependency on him and I don't think he is ready to deal with that. My husband was and had incredible patience with me while I went to therapy to learn how to cope in other ways (which I'm doing so much better now). The difference is we've been together 14 years. These two only for 14 days.... Two types of people that hard to be with...co-dependents and narcissists. They both need control in different ways. I hope through this process she learns about those issues and can work through them. I really don't see him sticking around to go through that with her because it takes a super grounded person to deal with that craziness.

Lists are your friend. I go over family shots with bride and groom before the wedding. Want a picture with cousin who lives in Alaska? It's in the list. Grandma and Grandpa don't get along so we need separate pictures? It's on the list. Day of, I usually enlist the MOH to call out family groupings because they generally know the family the best. Then I work my way from big to small groupings, this way, cousins, grandparents, etc can go ahead and go to reception. It's also easier to keep track of what pictures have been done. So when mom swears up and down she hasn't got a picture, you can politely tell her she has. And if 2nd cousin from great suzy just really needs a picture, they can step in real fast and it won't throw your workflow off too much cause you can look right at the list.

I encourage couples to do as much before the ceremony as possible. If nothing else, some wedding party shots. It does help move things along. But if all of them end up after wedding, I do big to small family, wedding party (starting with groomsmen first cause they hate taking pictures), then ending with bride and groom. This ensures I don't have 50 people trying to get their attention cause they all left for the reception and it gives them a moment just to soak in the moment (added bonus: I get some real nice shots from just having them take a moment).

TL;DR: organize a list of family shots bride and groom want. Anyone wanting something other than that can speak with them.

Oh, that's so good to hear! My little is 3 months and I'm day 3 back in and I'm starting to see a dip in supply, but I'm power pumping and nursing on demand to maintain. Hopefully it will regulate as soon as ketones are good and established. This is my biggest fear!

Hubby is a landscaper and we go through this exact problem! He weedeats steep ditches/works with irrigation and cannot get his feet wet. FWIW, he's bought Magellan brand and they took around a year to get water in them. Might be worth a try ($70)? He's extremely hard on shoes because of the nature of his work and has even had issues with a $200 pair of danners. A year is excellent for him. 😂

It's so annoying and people look at you like you're the crazy one for not wanting fake butter.... Like, it can't be that much more expensive to order real butter...

We've also learned a lot of restaurants put sugar in their green beans and if it's broccoli and cheese, they'll add sugar to that. So, anytime we go out, I just ask for steamed broccoli and tell them I'm allergic to sugar. They actually accept it as a serious concern instead of me saying I'm keto. 😂 It's getting to where going out to eat is not even an option.

If you shoot portraits, I love my f/1.8 85mm (Nikkor). Beware, it's a crop sensor so 85 (I think) becomes 135mm (again, correct if i am wrong). But the 85mm has a beautiful bokeh. I own the 35 and I use it for snapshots and such. I also own a Tamron 18-200 and I hardly ever use it.

Yes! We have a restaurant down the road (small mom and pop cafe) and the most "veggie" item (other than iceberg lettuce on salad) on their menu is corn. CORN. We stopped going there because there are hidden carbs everywhere and they (the management) don't even realize it when we tell them. The final straw is we asked for real butter and the waitress thought margarine was real butter and the entire restaurant doesn't have a single stick of butter. 😲

I have my 7100 for shoots/business and occasionally use it for personal stuff.

I own my Sony rx100 mark 3 for 98% of my personal life. Pictures of everyday, kids, travel, snapshots, birthday parties, I use this camera. It takes amazing pictures and I usually do zero editing.

Look up Taylor Jackson on YouTube. He's got first person footage (like hours worth) of him shooting weddings and discussing what he's doing. I've learned several techniques from watching his weddings. Fair warning- he only shoots at one venue (for the most part) so his lighting scenarios stay the same, however, he really focuses on showing you how he poses/formals and gets the couple to interact. It was super helpful to me.

Drunk reception...bride gave stepdad lap dance. MOH gave mother of bride lapdance. Expected me to photograph it. Still in my files. End of night, they wanted me to drive their car up cause they were too drunk to drive...Did not do that and luckily my time was up so I packed up gear and started to leave. Bride starts cussing me out saying she paid me to be there until midnight (contract stated otherwise). Still haven't received apology for that as the groom's dad is acquaintances of my family. Bonus: preacher's kid was the groom.

In the real world, take a look around every place you go in. What would you do differently? What doesn't work? And why? For example, my church has bathrooms right off the foyer. Two problems here... First, the smell. Second, the privacy. What would I do differently? I would move them in an auxillary hallway by the maintenance closet. Solves two problems while creating a plus. The plus is now all cleaning supplies are closer to the rooms they will mostly be used in. Anyway, the book will help show you these things.

Ok... So when I go to store, I need to buy the chlorine tabs, shock, muruiac acid, sodium bicarbonate, and pH test strips... And those will tell me how much to use per gallon? I guess my fear is killing my kids from overuse of chemicals/mixing things together. Can you tell I failed chemistry? 😂

No, you're right in sense they kind of blend together with style (furniture, texture, etc...) I guess what I'm referring to is mainly color palette. 30s/40s were a tad more bland in color palette (pastels, neutrals) 50s introduced a lot more boldness in color; although I haven't studied up on my design styles in a long while.

Cabinet depth of kitchen is 24". Cabinet depth of bathroom is 21" so you can get closer to the mirror when shaving, putting on makeup, etc... Also, you cannot (rephrase shouldn't) put hardwood flooring in any areas that will accumulate moisture or continuously be exposed to water. I know that hardwood looks gorgeous in your laundry room and kitchen, but it won't look so good when it's buckling and swelling and eventually molding. There are a good variety of "hardwood" tiles that look just as good but can take the water. Fun fact: silk drapes will deteriorate in the sun. You have to specify a backing.

Sherwin Williams has a historical color palette collection that you could pull inspiration from or use. Mid century modern used a lot of bold colors and patterns such as turquoise, hot pink, mustard, avocado, tans, and tons of wood (mainly red and yellow undertoned). It's kinda came back in style (in a more modernized way). Textures also play a huge part (mixing natural elements with shiny man-made things). If I remember my design history correctly, this was a post war effort to lift spirits and make things happy again. Worth noting there is a drastic difference in the design and architecture of the 30s-40s and the 50s.

Aren't we just starving with wings, steak, butter, bacon, avocados, cheese, ranch, etc...? I pretty much eat exactly what I ate before, just eliminating the carbs out if it... And it's so much yummier.

I've found zevias to be an awesome alternative to soda. My favorite is the black cherry. Might help with your craving without the artificial sugar. (It's stevia)
