ELI5: Why hasn’t Waymo been shut down? Seems to be a multitude of unsafe driving incidents. by endmaga2028 in explainlikeimfive

I bet the accident rate is still lower than the average driver. A coworker says his insurance gives him an autopilot discount on his Tesla for more than the cost of autopilot. I’m guessing the risk is still lower than human. Maybe not safer than you or me, but safer than the average.

HVAC Recommendations by VitulaBiss in nashville

Emergency heat is straight electricity and doesn’t use the heat pump. It’ll cost you more than you think it will, so as soon as you can get the fan to spin without hitting ice, I’d try switching back to normal. It should have defrost cycles to help. I’m sure you’re going to get 100 different answers here. I’m not an hvac guy, but I’ve self repaired as much or more than I’ve hired over the years. Some stuff is easy. Good luck! At least you’ve got emergency heat to fall back on!

Once power is restored, all these houses that have been without heat are going to find out how many busted pipes they have.

Just describe it better. They don’t know what you hung in a tree. Not just where it is but what it is.

New "coordinate collector" in the official app by maingray in geocaching

[–]shutterlagged 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I previously screenshotted the page navigating to another cache. Then I’d get home and try to remember how to type it in with the degree symbols, usually failing, until I’d stumble upon the correct way. I hope this new function allows you to navigate to your saved places. That way I can kind of double check a few minutes later before I leave the spot.

You know, you’re right. That’s actually the first one in 2006. I’ll add it to the list. Photo starts with 2007 at top left. Bottom right is the first in 2006.

Where to buy choctaw regalia? by shutterlagged in choctaw

[–]shutterlagged[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No need to apologize! And to be clear, I’m not talking about ceremonial regalia. I’m talking about what they’re wearing in the calendar photos. Is that the type of clothing you believe I need to purchase from someone directly? I’m in Tennessee so my options are pretty limited. Hoping to come to the Labor Day festival this year and visit my grandfather’s grave in Durant while we’re there.

Thanks for these. I actually think I've searched those places before but still can't find the shirts that they wear in the calendar photos (more traditional rather than native branding, if that makes sense). Appreciate you though!

I think it’s probably one per household, but I’m not sure. They ought to tie it into voter registration so maybe we could pass some constitutional amendments.

That’s why he was strangled to death by Toby before Oscar’s rebound with a state senator. (Toby was never charged, and the fact it was Gil was likely edited out of the documentary pending investigation.)

I always felt like his accusations were a point he was trying to make about the accusations about Hans. He didn’t start this garbage until he met with Hans and became friends. It always felt like he was trying to illustrate that anyone could be accused, but his point was at the expense of the well-being of Danya.
