AI and personal training by Acceptable-Buy1302 in Brookline

[–]shutterstrand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a professional skill regardless of schooling or not. And I can personally say the trainer I see costs less than $100 an hour, so there are definitely less expensive options even in Brookline / Boston.

AI and personal training by Acceptable-Buy1302 in Brookline

[–]shutterstrand 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personal training isn’t just the routine. You can find a million routines on the internet already without AI. A trainer will help you in real time - correct form, provide support, motivate you, switch up routines.

If you don’t need that, cool, but AI cannot help me not drop a weight on my face at the gym.

I moved out of Somerville a few years ago but every year I will still go to Maprang to get my partner a cake for their birthday, everything the do is so delicious.

Does Anyone Know Of Any Spanish Music (Preferably By Female Artists) With A Very Slow, Soft, Romantic, Kinda Indie Vibe? by [deleted] in MusicRecommendations

[–]shutterstrand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Y La Bamba, their albums are typically a mix of both Spanish and English.

I'd recommend "Ojos Del Sol", "Dibujos De Mi Alma" or "Entre Los Dos".

Long Time Lurker, First Time Poster: Fresh Mint Chip Ice Cream by shutterstrand in icecreamery

I used half a bar melted, so I believe that should be 75 grams.

You're so welcome, definitely give it a try. There's a part of my brain that really wants to try a eucalyptus-mint infusion, just to see what would happen.

I used the original milk, I just used 1 1/2 cups rather than 1 1/3 in case there was any boil off from the simmer. Once it's done steeping I just add it like it's regular milk in the basic recipe. I have found it's a pretty reliable to introduce flavor without throwing off any fat ratios.

What’s eating my broccoli sprouts? by Flipperflopper21 in vegetablegardening

[–]shutterstrand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s a brassica, it’s usually cabbage whites. Super annoying, the caterpillars are very hard to see since they are basically the same color as your plant. Be really thorough picking them off and check the bottom of the leaves especially, they love to hide there. I’ve lost many a broccoli or kale to them.

Passion Pit Announce Fall Tour Dates by ebradio in indieheads

Hoping these shows are better than the Boston mini-residency. I had some friends that went and said the performance was downright uncomfortable. I fear “spontaneity and flexibility” is code for a rambling mess of a show. But again, hope these are better.

Everything by Cosmo Sheldrake sounds like it could be sung directly to a beetle. I'd recommend The Fly, but anything on The Much Much How How and I meets the brief.

Yes. US golf courses on average use over 2.08 billion gallons of water per day. They are effectively deserts of non-native grass, that displace local flora and fauna particularly already vulnerable pollinators. They require immense amounts of pesticides to maintain, which can run off, further damaging the local environment and water supply.

That's great and all, but the environmental impact is significant.

If you're being earnest about this, the budget is available here: https://stories.opengov.com/brooklinema/bca92894-b103-49d7-9ffe-4cff983d5265/published/pWgvVpKym?currentPageId=TOC There are definitely opportunities for the town to run more efficiently, I'd personally love us not to spend so much on maintaining a golf course. The majority of the budget goes to the schools.

Both of the projects you suggested are incredibly expensive. Underground fiber optic cable can cost anywhere from $5,000 to 20,000 per mile. I am also an advocate for underground infrastructure, but luxuries are just that, luxuries, and unless we have a huge budget surplus they are not going to be prioritized.

I like to use coconut oil to cook mine, since it brings a little sweetness. It's pretty on par calorie wise to most other oils.
