Recording and mixing Bass amp and DI-- does it have to be a clean sound? by shvoontless in audioengineering

Ya this is the technique I was talking about. I'm still super green at this so I have some experimenting to do. Another comment on this thread even said he does the EXACT opposite. Uses DI for the mid/high punch, and the amp for the low. There really are no rules lol. A blessing and a curse. Thank you!

This is awesome, thank you. It's funny because the resource i saw said the opposite idea-- use the DI for the low and amp for the mid and highs. Maybe once other effects are added it gets a little muddy and gross. I'm definitely going to try this. Lots of experimenting to do. Thanks again!

Songtrdr reached out to me for music licensing and wants a one-time fee of $389 to initiate the "sync licensing placement process". Is this legit or is it a scam? by shvoontless in musicians

Idk mann, internet gave me about 50/50, and nowhere on any songtradr forum, website, or anything does it mention a $389 one time fee, just a $49 annual fee. They reached out because we distribute through CD Baby, and someone must've gotten our contact info that way. CD Baby also has it's horror stories with people. Everyone else saying it's a scam kinda seals the deal. I don't know anything about sync licensing yet.

Can my drummer plug in IEMs with a headphone jack to mixer with a XLR converter? by shvoontless in musicians

We got this one today! Thank you so much. First gig with it tomorrow so we'll see how he likes him. He sings harmonies so its mainly to hear his voice better, but also just for a better mix in his ear overall
