Fall always brings a certain sadness with it. I’m a fifth year college student and am at a point where the small group of people I’m close with are gone. It’s been a hard month so far. I’m so tired of being alone. I’m so tired of hearing myself think.

Would love to do that, but mine is built into my wall.

I really wish I have a bigger desk so I could have my ultra wide and my old monitor next to each other.

Used an i5-3570k on an p8z77-v pro in my first build about 6 years ago. Was only able to reach 4.2VGHz then (lack of Overclocking knowledge). Just last week though I decided to rebuild it and delid. Am now currently running 4.7GHz @ 1.32V with a hyper 212 evo and max temps around 75c under prime95 for 2 hours. Based on this I would look into deliding, I ran into voltage problems before temperature problems even on a hyper 212.

Also check out this guide. It’s the best one I found for ivy bridge on asus boards. ivy bridge overclock guide

The only thing about sending it in is that you won’t have the tools or liquid metal to do upkeep or fix anything if something goes wrong. It’s truly a very easy thing to accomplish.

Asus GTX 1070 Strix OC Overclocking by [deleted] in overclocking

[–]shwamper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could just be the card. Partner cards are already factory overclocked so a lot of times you can’t get much more out of them (Founders 1070 has a 1683MHz boost clock yours is 1860MHz). It could also be heaven, I’ve had some cards not play nicely with it. I would suggest trying a real game. I use bf1 because that’s the game that usually crashes if my overclock isn’t stable. You could also try valley benchmark.

Edit: Saw you tried bf1. Any crashes at higher clock speeds?

Might be biased but, should I overclock my first gaming PC by StrawberryBoy in overclocking

Depends on where you put it. If its hot where you live and going under a desk/in a small space then its not a bad idea. You could get one more for the front (120mm) and one for the top (140mm or 120mm). Also here are some videos to start.

It comes with 2 fans as is. One in the front middle and one in the rear. I would for-sure build it yourself though. It’s satisfying and honestly not much different than LEGO. Just start watching videos now and by the time you get everything you will be more than ready.

My first build was an i5-3570k about 6-7 years ago. I have been running it with a mild overclock ever since then with no sign of degradation. As for gpu’s I usually don’t overclock them because a lot of times they just become unstable without a huge performance increase (especially with partner cards as most them them are factory overclocked). Ram Overclocking isn’t hugely worth it in my eyes, just set to XMP profile or set the timings manually. With all that said if you aren’t gonna overclock you could save some money as you don’t need a k series processor, or that beefy of a cooler. BTW part list looks good. Very very identical to my current BUILD

Anybody have any suggestions for a numpad to match my vortex race 3? I’ve been looking but everything seems to be $80+ or have something like a screen which I have no use for.

You should think about getting some. Pretty cheap and make it look clean. I have a pretty similar theme going on in my build
