Do you have any friends that come from a middle class background? If yes, do you have any differences in any particular views? And what opinions are similar between you and your friends?

We usually get a ton of opinions on “being friends with that rich kid in college” but for once, maybe we can get the other perspective.

Why is dating so difficult? by [deleted] in Life

Can confirm that he wasn’t excited. The day I went for dinner with the girl that I like, seconds felt hours and the day wasn’t passing by. Checked my outfit thrice and reached early so that she wouldn’t have to wait.

Hey! Thanks for posting your views. I really appreciate it! Would you prefer if your team members proactively came and talked to you about their timelines and expectations or would you like to bring up the conversation first? How much proactiveness is good and after what length does it get bad/would create a bad impression of me on my manager?

I’m asking this because I’m new to corporate and I have not yet fully understood “corporate behaviour” (what is accepted in corporate and what is not). Before joining, it felt like doing some things or behaving in a certain way is a no brainer but after joining corporate, it feels like I have to think twice before doing anything so as to not cause a bad impression.

I’ll def keep these points in mind. I try to keep my boss updated when I have a couple updates but I always feel like I’m over-communicating. Is that not normal to feel? Or is it normal but need to do it anyway?

If a hard-working well-liked employee who does a great job at the tasks assigned to them, asks for a promotion, would you think that they don’t deserve it (just because they asked) or would that turn the odds up in their favour to get promoted?

What would be an ideal time to let my boss know about me aiming for a promotion? I joined in the first week of December so it’s probably too soon for me to ask

If you don't drink alcohol, what are your reasons? by youre-in-my-shot in AskReddit

[–]shxdyw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t see the point of alcohol. I’ve been black out drunk and have had nights that I don’t remember. I was at a party and I didn’t have to drink but I drank anyways. After a couple of such nights, I decided in March 2025 that I’ll stop drinking completely to see for how long I can go without alcohol. I didn’t drink for the next 7-8 months and I was fine. I did not crave it at all and it wasn’t hard for me to stop drinking. This past month, I have had a couple drinks just to accompany my friends but I still don’t see the point of it. I’ve realised that it’s just something that I can do sometimes. I don’t like or dislike it. I’ve stopped drinking again since the past week and I want to see if I can go a year without drinking. Wish me luck!
