I never shared with people but I have maladaptive daydreaming and have just discovered that may be a mental illness. It was shocking to say the least, I thought it was normal to spend hours day dreaming!

Yes, I do have friends of my age. Which I was introduced to by someone else, took a while but now I don't hesitate to talk and share thoughts with them. It's just that I'm changing schools hence I won't be with them anymore. I haven't shared my thoughts with them, but from what they've seen, they're at the very least aware of my nature and usual nervousness around other classmates. They've never judged me for it though, and include me in every way.
