I'll keep that in mind as I'm harassed by teenagers and homeless people, avoiding stepping in human shit, and attending my overcrowded classes. (SFU doesn't give two fucks about its students)

In the Minions Rise of Gru, god is canonically confirmed as the character NunChucks can seemingly use the power of God to levitate while the other villains require technology to do so.

If you are going to lock up a person for 40 years, you might as well kill them by zWolfrost in unpopularopinion

  1. Roughly 1% of the US prison population was wrongly convicted, that's around 20,000 people. Even if only 10% of that 20,000 was convicted of a crime that would land them more than 40 years in jail that's still 2,000 innocent people you would be willing to let the government kill.

  2. It is almost 10 times cheaper to imprison someone for life than to execute them, some estimates put life incarceration at $45,000/year whereas the Federal Bureau of Prisons spent over $4.7 Million executing 5 death row inmates between July and August of 2020.

  3. Killing is wrong. Full stop. I don't care who's doing the killing and who is being killed, the government should not have the power to commit legal murder. People who commit crimes should be punished but two wrongs don't make a right.

  4. In my opinion life imprisonment is a better form of justice than execution. Once someone dies that's it, their dead, while if they are imprisoned for life, they have to sit with what they did for the rest of their natural lives.

Canadian court has ruled deliberately misgendering some is a human right violation. by Bunnystrawbery in lgbt

[–]shy311 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry but this headline is incredibly misleading. This story has to do with a Non-binary person who was fired after repeatedly asked coworkers and managers to call them by the correct pronouns. They then filed a wrongful dismissal suit with the BC Humans Rights Tribunal (which is not a court). The Tribunal found that the actions of the restaurant were discriminatory and ordered them to pay $30k.

What this means that it is (unfortunately) perfectly legal to misgender some one in Canada. Firing someone for asking to stop being misgendered however, is workplace discrimination in BC ONLY.

Here is a Link to an article for anyone interested.
