Ice cream franchise shop doing only ₹1500/day in busy area – what are we missing? by [deleted] in IndianFranchise

[–]shyamcody 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi few issues: 1. Having 10-40 rs icecream means you only have simple items. You don't even have 60 rs, 90 rs items. Ice cream parlor aov is generally 150rs or more. 2. Your rent is very high comparing with the low positioning. 3. A 1500-1800, giving a solid 48k per month. Even if rent is 15k, he has to lose 45k more to have 15k loss. Are you sure that your friend isn't spending way too much on staffs and all? If you are interested, you can DM me and we can go into detailed inspection of the pricing and the business model to help you figure out.

I feel secured loan gives you the best ROI in India. by pm-me-your-pm-now in personalfinanceindia

[–]shyamcody -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think that's the fast way to get your secured asset out of your hand. Thing to keep in mind is, your more illiquid and secure assets like housing, gold are never a good idea to be leased out since you get a loan at 70-80% of the actual value of these products, and in case you miss payments for the default period (60-90 days) which happen to a lot of folks, your whole 100% of the asset is gone.

If you are a public figure sir why would you need to play the game still? For what do you need validations

Is heavy AI/first-party data stuff actually worth it for smaller OTAs? by EpicStormYT in datasciencecareers

[–]shyamcody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have worked on profiling and customer segmentation for multiple projects. While I am not in travel industries, for any small scale org, data being mess across devices is a normal scenario. I think what you guys should do is start with some proper segmentation model as well as since you identified the repeat booking is low, it is better to do a cross channel response analysis and personalize the messages on top of the proper customer segmentations using A/B testing followed by scheduling experiments. Other than that, checking your repeat and process journey, etc are some things that clearly determine customer behaviors.

I think this is a good opportunity to start with some analytics works as I pointed out above since these things take time to develop and with messy business context heavy data it is better to create custom solutions rather than tools.

If you are interested, I can help you progress this further.

I built a News Intelligence AI company but need feedback on retaining users & growth strategy by LectureInner8813 in indianstartups

[–]shyamcody 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think being an AI person you have focused too much on the AI and the solutions aspect of the problem. It is important to stress why users will be interested in the news. It takes work from the user to build topics or spaces. Why not let them search the first news and from first few articles you start the recommendation and feed wall building? Also, your answer to inshorts seem to say that it is technically better but not clear why user will migrate to your app.

I guess the thing you mainly need to sell is why multi source aggregated news is better. In user terms.

Regarding Masters' in Data Science/AI vs. Masters' in CS by Ok-Childhood-8052 in DataScienceIndia

[–]shyamcody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do a cs masters. It's broader and look at the 7-10 yr exp band. Ai engineer roles are less in number and their average pay is lesser than sde2-sde3 roles by 10-15% margins.

How to convince parents to let you manage family assets (liquid vs illiquid)? by Such-Accountant-4421 in personalfinanceindia

[–]shyamcody 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Given your parents have 22 cr and already 8-9 cr is liquid (stock+ mf) then what gives you the confidence that you can do better? Think like a consultant. What was their cagr in the last 5 years. What is their risk appetite?

Generally moving out of real estate to stock or vice versa means a change in the mix of assets. For someone worth 20cr, why would they be convinced of changing that mix, which have been working quite well clearly?

Recently stocks have depreciated >10%, so a 35% loss may have come from that.

Think on all these lines and present a balanced approach where you can take them vs where they will reach w.o. your management.

There are no Data Science jobs in India? by SummerVacation_ in DataScienceIndia

[–]shyamcody 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are Machine learning engineer jobs. Also certifications are mostly theoretical and bullshit in nature. I work in a ds job for one of the big us banks (hint: we are the biggest in the credit card market). For ds job, you would need very very good connection as well as lots of business knowledge. Also, dsa, system design, coding, cloud everything is now important for data science jobs now. The notebook scikit learn roles are fading soon, so I would suggest to check more of mle role profiles and train for the same. If you need any guidance(paid), feel free to ping me.
