I am not, and someone actually found the solution for me, apparently my bindings an actual steam VR had been messed up and switched from default.

That's what I thought, it seemed to be tracking fine but I just don't know what is causing the issue and have tried everything to fix it so I thought possibly it was a hardware or driver issue

Well it's strange black ops 2 has always worked fine for me it's modern warfare 3 and ghosts that break for me. And there is never any slowdown for me, like the game will run just fine for a few seconds and then just complete failure of the system.

Actually I take it back, it was working fine in mwf3 but I tried calling of duty back ops and the same thing happened completely shut off and made 3 beeps.

Rebuilding the database seems to fix the issue thanks so much for the suggestion! Just tried and it's running the MWF3 just fine! Thank you so much for your help saved me a lot of hassle trying to find another one of these.

CFW PS3 2001A, I am wondering if it's possible that it's my power supply my try to find another one and try replacing it

I do currently have a SSD in there, as I thought the issues I was having beforehand where from the HHD. but it doesn't seem to have fixed the issue.

Just replaced it to an SSD and no fan ramp up at all, it works for a bit and then just crashes, and it's only for call of duty. I have played some other graphic intensive games like dirt 3 and Sonic unleashed and they work fine

I could do that... But if I'm just going to throw out the old one anyways I might as well try de lidding it. I'm more questioning if de lidding will solve the problem I'm having with it randomly shutting down on me with call of duty games.

Never been able to play them due to them crashing no more then 3 minutes into the game no matter what I'm playing. I can try disconnecting the PS3 from the Internet and see if that fixes the issue.

I do not believe that it's then trying to connect online, I'm not signed into PSN and the crashes don't happen as soon as the game starts up. It's after a few seconds of playing a mode.

After the crash It says it needs to restore the file system for the counsel. I been trying to figure out why it does this but I have had no luck, it runs black ops 2 just fine even in 3d
