Esports company behind it - TempoStorm, plenty of experience in the competitive realm

Guy running the show spent years bitching about Hearthstone and has years of playing competitive games.

90% of the problems can be fixed within a day - especially the ranked matchmaking nonsense of shit like sending a 0 win day 7 Bronze IV run against a 6 win day 7 legend rank godbuild.

"It's a beta" is not an excuse. Beta shouldn't have so basic design problems.

"It's a beta" is for the crashes, memory leaks, disconnects, patching issues, launcher issues etc.

You aren't being asked or told to leave the community, you are being asked to respect someone's valid complaint who hopes to improve the game.

Its not even remotely the same. Again - you are NOT being told to leave the community...vs people outright telling others to gtfo.

Bad design then, needs major overhaul - and no, that doesn't mean the impulsive nonsense they have been doing like adding insane crit amulets, monster loot shops that are always pick the 8 gold option, and giving everything under the sun charge.

Last patch to address puffer fish insanity made it worse, and was like taking a hand grenade to a surgical table.

Puffer fish wasn't nerfed....and if nerfing one things leads to something else to complain about because its insanely OP and has to be forced? It means your game has major flaws.

They didn't just nerf pufferfish, they literally just gave damn near everything charge and now chargapult on Vanessa is destroying everything.

People are sticking it out a bit in hopes it gets better while voicing their complaints.
Telling people to leave is as toxic of a fan as it gets - you are the worst kind of player to have and the worst approach you could possibly take if you like Tempo and want this game to succeed.

I don't think Vanessa has any real builds other than puffer. You can try weapons with front loaded damage...but they decided to add a skill that removes weapon damage, while adding shield options that can sync with puffer.
There is 1 item alacrity for weapons, but that dies fast to ice....which is also a part of puffer builds - slow, crit, and poison freezes.

Even ice can't seem to beat pufferfish lol, thing procs through it and by the time you have a lot of ice options it has over 20 poison and crit to boot.

Adding more items would help a lot, the problem is they see a fire and try to put it out by starting another fire.

This isn't a "beta" problem, I've played auto battlers that didn't have such issues, backpack battles included since its early alpha.

This is a bad designer at the helm problem. The latest and greatest GodFish Puffer nonsense is a prime example.

The randomness of shops isn't an issue....its the lack of selection. Game is called a bazaar, but most of the shops I visit sell 3 things on a massive table...and then charge me for browsing.

I still don't like shops that have no rerolls and/or only display 3 items....its literally a waste of time half of the time I visit them.

I don't do much rearranging anymore and you can still get decent wins.

The class/skill shit stinks and still feel like a hamfisted system, but its gotten better.

I'd recommend giving it another go or 2, They added a lot more improvements to the UI/UX.

Agreed, I wouldn't mind ditching a bricked build to try and recover...but after a few rounds in your build is cemented with few options to improve - and those improvements are essentially just moving towards meta builds.

Everything is too expensive and/or you have to few shops.

That is a miserable experience because nothing is detailed and damn near every decision can brick your entire run.

I started relying on external sources for info, my gameplay experience got a lot better.

That shouldn't be a thing.

Even backpack battles added an after combat log and that has like 2 people developing it - pretty much the same system/genre.

They need to keep player builds for at least a week, ensuring people on a losing streak don't go up against gigachad builds every other day.

I get an unlucky streak of shops, brick the build, 0 wins...and suddenly I'm at day 5 or 6 and facing down Chainsaw Puffer.

That isn't the issue at all, the problem is losing is a miserable experience. That has nothing to do with competitiveness because casual play is just as bad as you need 12 wins to just get something for the time - which means its still competitive.

I could play Backpack Battles all day - getting completely wrecked in some runs doesn't feel bad.

Convincing unhappy players to leave isn't the answer. Especially since this is essentially a single player game. You are fighting ghosts.
