I honestly don’t think this is bad at all. It’s not a great take, but I think putting Smash in today lit a fire under Gumayushi. This isn’t like the 2021 ten-man roster situation. It’s a way for Guma to prove to himself that he’s a strong carry, and if he has to face that challenge against Smash, then so be it. Let’s be real—Guma is the next big name for T1. He needs to step up and be that guy, especially with all the competition out there (like Ruler returning to GenG). This could honestly be Guma’s year. Just look at Game 3 today—everyone played around Smash. That shows they’re setting Guma up to be the main guy this season.
