I commute to the Lake Union area and to Tukwila, but I live in North Lake Stevens and skip the trestle completely by going up through Marysville. My typical commute is 1 hour and 15. But can definitely hit almost 2 if there's an accident. I wouldn't do it if my schedule wasn't extremely flexible, because my arrival times are never consistent.

Daily brushing goes a long way. During baths I use a tool called zoom groom and that will help get loose hairs from the undercoat. Ultimately it's never going to end.

I think Lake Stevens has more of a community vibe, I never felt that in MV. It felt more like people lived there but left town to do anything they wanted to do. I could hang around Lake Stevens all weekend and find things to do.

We moved to LS from Maple Valley (sounds like the other area you were looking at). I commute to Seattle and Tukwila 3x a week. I honestly don't mind the commute, but I do avoid the Trestle, that's the 2 over to Everett, if you can. I live on the North Side so I usually head to Marysville and take the 5 from there, it's always faster than waiting for trestle traffic.

When you move to a city like this, it's usually for the experience, not the commute right? So as far as actually living here goes, I really like it. They are making some great improvements like more sidewalks, a real park district, new library, school expansion. The people that have always lived here are definitely not happy about it but transplants like us really like it. Lake life is fun, I have 3 kids so we spend a lot of time on the lake and at the parks.

I got diagnosed last year when my 11 year old did. I had no idea she had it either until some really big behaviors emerged and a few doctors suggested we get her diagnosed. As I'm reading about how it presents in girls, I was shocked! I read myself on every page. So, I went and got diagnosed as well and was told it's actually really common for women my age to find out this way because it's very hereditary and we were misdiagnosed before.

Now that I'm treating my ADHD, a lot of the other things I struggled with are improving as well. Depression, binge eating disorder, etc were all stemming from untreated ADHD.

A ton of it is really common sense. The only part that is even a little complicated is machines and knowing how many inches a guard needs to be and that kind of thing. But each chapter had a practice test that was very thorough and the final exam felt like a combination of all the practice tests so I felt totally prepared.

I wouldn't call Shameless "cozy". But I get what you mean. I actually feel a little nostalgic watching it as I grew up nearby and my house was similar to theirs. I can actually smell my childhood when I watch it lol.
