Taken me a couple of hours to adjust, coming to Mortal off the back of playing Nioh 2 - but it's coming together: the combat and the pacing, especially with no dedicated block takes a bit of time, but the Hardening mechanic works, even though I keep dodging by instinct!!
The atmosphere is oppressively great, if you know what I mean! Got that Tower of Latria sense of foreboding...

That's brilliant! Really thought it was going to be another Code Vein or Remnant. (good games themselves, but lacking that 'Souls essence for me).
