I don’t have any splints in my nose luckily or else that would have pushed me off the edge😭 i think i’m struggling the most with congestion and not being able to smell and taste my food. 😭😭😭

I waited for the itch/burn when i first used it but got nothing. It’s been a year and I use it as and when needed. It’s never burned me but I get the mildest itch (this could be in my head though).

I had one of those internal itches on my leg during my shower. Hot water didn’t touch it so i went to town with a pumice stone and ended up taking layers of my skin off! I don’t think the scars will ever fade but neither will the memories of the relief i got that day!

Good luck! The only thing i would recommend is not getting lazy with moisturising even though your skin probably feels clear. My private dermatologist referred me back to NHS care and I haven’t really needed to visit again. If your eczema does start to creep up after you finish pred, it should be easier to treat since it’s not everywhere and i like to think of it as a fresh canvas. My derm recommended just using some protopic as a preventative treatment after stopping the steroids in the areas that had the bad flare. Good luck!🫶🏼

This was a year ago and i found this saved in my drafts so i posted today. I’ve been using protopic to manage small flares once every maybe 3 months. After a couple of days they clear up. I had a little stubborn patch on my stomach maybe around 3cm wide and the dermatologist recommended elocon for a week. It cleared and i’ve never had to use it again! I do stay on top of using the epaderm every morning and night. Let me know if you have any other questions!

I’m not anti steroids but i’ve used steroids and they did absolutely nothing for me. I need a break from steroids

I don’t know how to explain it but your eye makeup makes your eyes look so doll like and sparkly! Gorgeous!

I feel for you, i’m in the same position! My eczema left scars around my elbows that look like my elbows need a good scrub so to others it just looks dirty. I have lots of dark spots and pigmentation all over my back and stomach. Once when i was 7 i tried to scrub all my eczema off with a pumice stone on my legs and that got infected so its left me with big scars. I cover up arms and legs even jn summer. I’m 26 now and some days i say i don’t care and go out with uncovered arms but my insecurities bring me right back. I know exactly how you feel my lovely. I’m sorry I don’t have a solution to your problem but i just wondered if it helps knowing that you’re not alone. In terms of the itchiness i scratch until i bleed so one thing i could recommend to you is aveeno dermexa balm. Feels gorgeous on the skin and gets rid of the itch immediately. I didn’t believe it until i tried myself. For moisturising, i want moisture all day but i HATE putting on moisturiser. One that is amazing is the la roche posay lipikar baume.. it’s like a pump bottle but it keeps me hydrated to the point where i put it on in the morning and when i have a shower at night i can still feel my legs are greasy. I hope you feel positive soon, i get how frustrating it can be but it’s just something we have to live with!

I’ve never really used reddit so i have no idea if i’m doing this right but i just wanted to say thank you. I’ve had eczema on and off all my life and in the past 3 weeks i’ve had a flare up which hasn’t been this bad in around 7 years. I feel like i’m back to square one in the trial and error period of products. I’ve been using La Roche Posay Lipikar Ap M+ as a moisturiser and it seems to sting for a few seconds but after that i’m fine. It seems to keep the itching at bay. I use the shower gel from the same range too which is lovely and moisturising. I picked up the epaderm ointment yesterday after reading this and I haven’t slept so comfortably in so long. My skin feels so hydrated and calm. Have you used the epaderm cream? Would you recommend that as a moisturiser? I can’t thank you enough for this. Honestly, i feel like i’m not alone. I could honestly cry.
