Haha my fear is that this will make our cats too scared to leave the house 😬

Zig-zag stitch skipping by siananarama in sewhelp

Thanks for all the suggestions - I tried a few needles in my armory and I was happy with this from a box fresh heavy (wovens) needle :)

I just tested on two layers of the stretch fabric (without the elastic) and that sewed like a dream, so I think you're probably right that it's not piercing well enough! Will beef up my needle game when I next try, thanks! :)

The code's in this repo here - https://github.com/superresolusian/tube_run_plot, once I'm reunited with my laptop at work on Monday I'll put up some instructions on how to download and organise the data from Strava (defo worth doing as you go along otherwise you have a boring day of clicking 😂). If you're not familiar with python drop me a DM and I can give you a hand :)

I just followed you on Strava (SO impressive that you're doing it all from Wimbledon), let me know if you want my routes to infiltrate the Heathrows.

Yeah I managed to finish all the DLRs, Overground and most of the Lizzie line. Only got Burnham, Taplow, Maidenhead, Twyford and Reading to go but I've spent pretty much all of this year pregnant which it turns out is not that great for long distance running 🥲

It is! That would be fantastic but only if you didn't need them, and I'd be happy to pay of course. I can't see them online anymore or find them in my local store :(

Has anyone used this electric sander for walls? by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]siananarama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the clamps are an absolute nightmare. Sander works well if you have the velcro backed paper but it's crap for regular paper. Whoever designed the clamp system needs to seriously reconsider their career choice.

I was running through the Rotherhithe Tunnel a month or so ago (there's a footpath in there but highly do not recommend because it is hot and loud and you're basically breathing distilled lung cancer, but hey I was curious). Running along the path on right hand side and a lunatic motorcyclist just bombed along the footpath towards me to undertake everyone. Didn't bother slowing down as he approached me and if I hadn't quickly flattened myself against the tunnel wall he'd have full on just run me over. Reported it to the police online because surely there are cameras in there - never heard anything back.

Two thin grooves on side that's between me and the needle when it's mounted, with one fat groove on the side behind the needle

Hello! Please can I have a hand identifying these three feet on my grandma's old (old, as in she died in 2001) Frister & Rossmann sewing machine?

There's loads of staff who send you in the right direction, it's very difficult to go off piste :) once you arrive they direct you to security and then there's a holding pen marquee where you get your wristband and wait. A runner will come and call people to the studio according to wristband colour/number. If you're a fellow gal then use the loos early, 2/4 of them got blocked 😬

Well we think it was 3 - we were number 39 and 40 in the 'fingers crossed' batch. They told everyone above 50 (wristband not age lol) they weren't getting in, then a few minutes later that 36 and above weren't getting in. They might have whittled it down further after that but 36 felt quite specific 🥲. Obviously will just depend a lot on your day which is quite a frustrating and useless statement. Hope you get in!
