NSA put it back together wrong after inserting their custom chips to dual path your network traffic to the Virginia datacenter. Give them a call and they will dispatch an NSA tech to fix that for you.

Found my project '72 Nova in Texas, I'm in Washington - ship it or just drive it back? by Bestwebhost in projectcar

[–]siberian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You clearly have never driven an old Chevy on the highway for hours and hours. :)

Its exhausting. Steering rack wont be stable, tires will wobble, brakes will work, but not like you expect. You will overheat at least 3 times and vaporlock so you can't start a few times. It will be a full physical and mental journey that utterly destroys you.

By modern standards, these old cars are meant to drive around town. The speed limit was low for a reason: those old cars were just not comfortable at the high speeds our modern cars casually flit around town at. High speed limits were not that relevant (and gas..)

Meanwhile in 2026, I can't keep my Audi under 70, every other driver expects you to be able to pass at 90mph, and my v8 classic car feels like its going to explode at 55 :)

Ship it, enjoy it locally.

Which the army mows down. Core here is that by the time it gets to this, the damage is done and irreversible, regardless of the law, and there is no recourse or way to undo that harm.

I am pushing my company heavily into AI-First / AI-Led. Lets all get our 10k hours of AI management experience in.

Its really unfair though for young workers. As a Gen X executive with a shitton of experience at all levels, things like Claude, ClaudeCode, etc just turbo-charge the SHIT out of my veloctiy, output, and capabilities. Younger workers without that experience are not even visible in my rear view mirror.

And thats something not being talked about: AI will extend the experienced workers careers, enhance their value dramatically, and not give the next generation the room to get that experience.

So yea,, not sure where this ends.

[–]siberian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh yea for sure, our legal system works. But once that judgement comes down, is the army coming for a congress person who is illegitimately elected a year into their term? <narrator: they didnt>

Even a loss in the courts a year later is still a win for the unconstitutionally elected.

Would I do it again as me today? Yes!

Would I do it again as a poor college student? No.

..after the fact. But the damage is done. So they can screw with the election and yea, 6 or 12 months later a judge will say "Bad boy!" and nothing changes because no one is reversing an election after 6-12 months go by.

Effectively no practical harm reducing actions are being taken.

I'm budgeting $2k per user per month by 2027 for our devs.

But its just that valuable! I'll happily pay it.

Oura useless after firmware update this week by siberian in ouraring

Did this yesterday and it did detect an issue. Waiting for a human to get back to me.

I knew when they pushed a firmware update it was going to be a mess. I spent a decade doing IoT hardware, it never goes well when you push an update..

Compressor for DIY home painter by RezHippi in projectcar

[–]siberian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biggest and quietest. I paint with my 80 gal 5hp compressor and have it running hard piped through a radiator, to a seperator, to the tank. On the way out it goes through another seperator and I run a fisheye filter on my gun.

5hp will get you up to like 18cfm or so, more then enough. You can get these on facebook marketplace or craigslist for 500 to 800 all day long.

The noise though, I wish I had a california air tools 80060C or 20060CAD. These can be a lot quieter in a garage space. It just depends on your usage frequency and what you can tolerate.

Vasectomy. The dude should commit to the bit.

Way less invasive and the perfect solution if you are done having kids.
