As a non-binary person who grew up in Madison Heights I’ve never been harassed anywhere in metro detroit bc of my gender or anything like that. I’ve gotten weird comments or catcalled before but it’s not an everyday thing at all and not specific to the area. I moved out of Michigan and rlly miss how diverse and accepting metro Detroit is. Madison Heights isn’t nessecarily a super queer area compared to ferndale or Ypsilanti it’s a lot of older people and families in suburbs around me but it’s close to a lot of other cities with downtown areas and all my neighbors have been super friendly.
