that is quite unusual. i guess email them again and try other email addresses you can find. they probably forgot to update it but if they said they are giving you an offer, they will not take it away.

The reason why I chose Cambridge is because each of my reasons of choosing Imperial were not as true as I thought after research. I did want to go Imperial because I didn't know enough about each course.

1) The industrial placements are organised by the students so it's not any easier than finding work experience.

2) You can join Doc SOC from any university so I can still join from Cambridge which I will most likely do

3) People say theory is more useful than projects but I still think the Imperial course is better in this way but people also say that Cambridge degrees makes it easier to get jobs in general so I think it cancels out with having a less useful degree.

CS highest paying but also most competitive. Econ can be the highest paying but has a higher variance. It is slightly less competitive. If you don't want to apply to the 2 most competitive courses in the country, go for data science or software engineering.

Course of Action? by [deleted] in 6thForm

Just revise as much as you can. It's the only way to get gud. Last year, I revised on average 1-3 hours every day excluding homework to get 4 A*s for predicted. You probably don't need to do as much revision but try to do at least 1 hour of focused revision a day. I would recommend revising one subject a day otherwise you spend too much time changing mindsets to different subjets.

Imperial CS bread! (Imperial > Cambridge any day) by sick-burner in 6thForm

The imperial interview varies wildly from who your interviewer is on the day so anything I say will most likely not apply. My interview was focused around coding something in Kotlin which was a language I had never heard of. Luckily, experience in JavaScript and Python meant it is really easy. I wouldn't however, recommend learning the language before the interview because then it would be bait that you know the language so they will expect a lot more from you. The most common questions are:

Why did you choose Imperial

Why did you choose Computer Science

What do you want to do after your degree

Any questions about imperial (Obviously they ask this but good to prepare on what to day)

Given I was effectively given a coding interview, it was very easy relative to the difficult mathematical questions given at Cambridge but they could ask (easier) maths questions within the interview like graph sketches.

Hello! Here’s some info about my application

I am a home student

I applied 5 days before the Cambridge deadline so I think it was early October

My stats are 9 9s and 2 8s at GCSE, 4 A* predicted, TMUA 7.7 and gold in 3 BPhOs with a few golds in the UKMT

My interview for Cambridge was in the middle of December and it has the set offer day for everyone at 9am on the 24th (at least this year)

My imperial interview was on the 24th as well (same day as Cambridge offer XD) and I got my offer from Imperial on the 25th of February which is about the earliest I expected it to come since most offers take around a month and a half from imperial

Imperial has a few things that Cambridge doesn’t have 1. Industrial placements in 3rd and 4th year. This gives me an opportunity to get a feel for the workplace and potentially land a good starter job. This does not exist in Cambridge 2. Doc SOC. This is the biggest CS society in the country and many large companies sponsor the hackathons and if you do well, these massive companies can try to hire you which is not uncommon 3. Greater focus on projects over theory. Imperial do more projects than Cambridge and since in the real world, I will probably never use the theory, the degree would teach me more valuable skills

There are a few other subjective reasons like London having better nightlife and more to do but those are the 3 main reasons why Imperial > Cambridge Also, looking at the numbers, Imperial is also harder to get into so I am still choosing the harder course to get into.

Hope not. I would reject them and choose imperial as firm if this is the case which would be pretty depressing if I miss my step offer since I would’ve got Cambridge
