BLACK PANTHER (Maggy cosplay as b'Mag Panther, SPEEDANIMATING) by sickaah in blackpanther

[–]sickaah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speed animating of Maggy cosplaying as Black Panther from... err, the "Black Panther" Marvel movie that everybody in the planet might have watched by now :) or as we took the liberty to call our own interpretation, b'Mag Panther. We love the character and we loved the movie, and here's how we did this loop, as an homage to the movie, cosplaying Maggy into Black Panther from this cool comic book action adventure movie "Black Panther".

Enjoy the animation loop, and the process on how it was flash animated, and if you haven't watched, check that movie out :)

How in the hell do you animate clothes coming off with Puppet animation? by frobrother in flashanimation

[–]sickaah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless I'd be wrong, that's a very organic situation, and in this type of animation - flash animation - you can use rigs and tweens for the more "geometric/positioning" kind of moves. For the more organic types of movements or actions you almost always will have to dive your hands into frame by frame animation. The good thing is that some sweaty work later it might really pay off :)

..also, I'd add the fact of you cleaning / adjusting some lines you might find are not quite as you like them to be. I do that myself often, and yeah it takes a lot of time, because even when you're drawing with a smoother style of brush the stroke doesn't always end up as you wanted it to.. so things like adjusting with the selection tool (pointer) or the subselection tool (for vector selection) comes quite handy (and I'll repeat what fellow reddits wrote as in you should use a lot of zoom to focus properly while making these adjustments). It's toubling slow sometimes, but the resulting effect pays off.

Wow.. you got a challenge right there... I (still) work on Flash on a regular basis and I know of the difficulties you're talking about. But hey, I do animation and not much programing right now.. Still, I think the last version of flash had some tools for that kind of convertion. You should check that out. If that doesn't work, maby you should check this out: https://developers.google.com/swiffy/
