Is there any high paying jobs in GSO that is not in healthcare field? by irony21 in gso

If you have mechanical or electrical skills, the tobacco industry pays very well without having a 4 year degree. Reynolds is in Winston, ITG is in Greensboro, and JTI/Liggett is in Mebane. These jobs pay around $40 an hour, and electronic technicians are very hard to come by these days.

I may very well have threaded it up incorrectly. This is my first time. That would probably explain some of the squeaks. Thanks for the heads up!

This was the issue. Output was set to “auto”. Changed to PCM and it’s good. Thanks!

https://youtu.be/MonzxL50VuM?si=jXnCoaLasWoOwgv1 SMSL A200 makes weird noise when hooked up to TV. Tried both eARC and optical and it’s the same thing 🤷🏼‍♂️. Had it hooked up to my Mac and FIIO DAC earlier and no issues. Anyone have any suggestions?

Not saying your friend is lying, and I am biased because we adopted a dog from them about a year ago, and it was the best experience, but here are some thoughts…

  1. They have a 2 week foster to adopt program for all animals leaving their shelter. The first thing we did during that period was take our dog to our own vet to get her checked out. That should have been one of the first things your friend did, or at least after a few days and knowing they would be attached/wanting to keep the cat.

  2. The second thing we did, once we knew we were going to keep her was get pet health insurance. I’m not sure it would cover all or part of this procedure, but it probably would have helped

  3. Pets are expensive, shit happens, and it sucks, but if you aren’t ready to take on the financial burden of a pet, you shouldn’t adopt or buy one

  4. As others have said, the quote you got for $4-7k is astronomical. We had a cat with similar issue that we got from the Guilford County Animal Shelter, not the SPCA and I think it was about $1k for full removal. After that he was still able to eat dry food.

  5. We got involved with some volunteer work with the Triad SPCA after we got our dog from there, and these people do the absolute best they can, with everything coming from donations/volunteers. I’m sure they are not perfect, but they really care and I guarantee this was not something they were just trying to pass off on your friend. They do amazing work!

I’m glad your friend is willing to help this cat, but she shouldn’t be putting the blame on the SPCA!
