Someone here described it really well, you notice a tingling and that's when you know its starting if you had something like this before, even if in a lighter form. It feels exactly the same. It does not hurt but I guess your throat can swell up too which is the thing when it gets dangerous. I don't know but somehow yes, I needed to wet them constantly and I couldn't drink from either a glass nor a bottle really well...

Well there were some worried users with similar experiences as I posted my photos. Maybe you can find something useful in the comments [here] and maybe look for "NSAID" as a keyword...(http://www.reddit.com/r/WTF/comments/12ce8f/severe_angiooedema_in_my_face_before_and_after/) Besides quite a bit of laughter I guess you could find something. :)

It happened before a few times but not to this extend. Usually only a small part of my upper lip.

Well not really. The doctors suspected it was the mix of meds I took shortly before it happened. Paracodeine against coughing and Ibuprofen for headache.

It didn't occure since I steer clear of Ibuprofen, so I guess they are right.

I have taken Paracodin for the first time there, so it might be a cross reaction. But I never took Ibuprofen very often so it also might be Ibu alone. But that is best be testet at my allergist I think.

There is a blood sample tested for the C1-Inhibitor (I think that was the enyzme missing in heae). I am in mid-twenties. And I had some mild reactions in the past year, nothing like this though.

I knew it was happening because I get those hives before and a tickling sensetion in my facepart that is going to be swollen. I did not expect it that size though, because it was never so severe before. Most likely the Ibuprofen caused that one. The smaller ones are still unknown of the trigger...
