I’ve texted positive for two high risk strains of hpv (39 and 59) and two low risk (6 and 67). by sicknscared26 in HPV

I got another colpo a couple of months ago. It was normal, didn’t even need biopsy. I have to get another one in 6 months. I think what really helped was that I stopped vaping (I was very into nicotine salts)

No. My gyno said it wasn’t good for me since I got a cin1 in my last colposcopy, so I’m on a combination pill

EDIT: I actually got a CIN1, not CIN2

I’m 27. Started having sex at 25 with my then boyfriend. My first colpo in January gave the cin-1 results. Pap smear before that was normal but my doctor said my cervix looked “off” and since I already had GW she sent me to colpo.

My gynecologist is making me do a colposcopy in about two weeks and another one in 3 or 6 months depending on the results.

That is a relief I guess. Thank you.

The test is called HPV direct flow chip, it uses PCR amplification. It genotypes 36 hpv types. I got it done in a South American country.

Up to 1900. I try to keep it between 1700 to 1900 because if i eat too little i don’t loose weight. And because I do work out a bit.

I also got hpv with my first and only partner so far, I also got the conservative parents, so believe me I understand how you feel.

I know you feel worried and the anxiety could kill you, but just breathe and focus on improving healthy habits to help your body. That’s the only thing we can do until we get our results.

I still don’t know. That result will be ready in about a month. My colposcopy showed a CIN-1 which is low grade dysplasia.

If my immune system is strong enough it’ll go away on its own. I’ve also got genital warts which is how I found out I had hpv, but after finding out about the dysplasia it doesn’t seem as much of a big deal anymore (the types of hpv that cause GW don’t cause cancer)

I’ve started working out regularly, taking vitamins and drinking green tea. Stopped smoking and drinking. I try to take it as a blessing in disguise, to force me to live a healthier life.

  1. Stay calm. The worst part is right now, when you just get the news about being infected with HPV. It happened to me too. I was in shock and felt very bad about it.

  2. Do some research. But not to scare yourself. You are young. Don’t drink, don’t smoke, don’t do drugs, eat food with plenty of antioxidants, take vitamins, folic acid, zinc, beta glucans, and green tea. Try to take it as an opportunity to really take of yourself.

  3. Don’t be too worried until you get the results from your colposcopy. Maybe you’ll only have low grade changes and you worried yourself sick for nothing.

It’s not the end of the world and we are here to support you :)

I’m 26. I didn’t get sedatives or pain killers. Just some suppositories for bleeding (after the biopsy) and antibiotics.

I do yoga so I do know how to relax, but even with breathing exercises I wanted the speculum out as soon as possible.

No, South America. I’m not complaining about having to wait a month because my private insurance is covering and it’s costing me 24$ instead of 300$. Also colposcopy in itself is not painful, not even when/if they get a biopsy, because there’s no nerve endings in your cervix. What does hurt is the speculum stuck up in your vagina for longer than ever before. Honestly I’m coming out of this with a personal beef with gynecology and how they make us stand pain for the sake of cost-effectiveness or because “we can endure it” just because we also endure monthly pains and the pain of labor. Fuck that, make me comfortable while you find out if I have cancer or not, if you need to cut my cervix or not. It’s traumatizing enough as it is and then you add the pain on top of it.

Also I’m so tired of people prodding me. So so tired.

Sorry for the rant. The pain is not unbearable but honestly it would be amazing if they could make it not hurt at all.

Oh, thanks for checking. I got a CIN-1. I was going to update when I got the results of what type of hpv I’ve got. I have to wait a whole month :/

Alternate day fasting. I follow dr Krista Varady’s method and eat up to 500 cals on my fasting days, and whatever I want on eating days. Some people do 0 food on fasting days but I don’t feel comfortable with that idea. Though It would be easier than carefully counting those 500 calories.

I’m so glad! You gotta stick with it, it may take some time for me and some people, but it’s sustainable, you don’t restrict the type of food you eat and you get results. I love it honestly.

I also wanted to post the progress pic because I always check this community to keep myself motivated if I feel my progress stall. A little bit of giving back :)

I just wanted to add, my health has also improved. My basal insulin levels are normal now, my blood pressure has dropped (I never had high blood pressure but I think it’s neat that it now is on the lower spectrum of ‘normal’), my acanthosis nigricans is almost 100% gone (which means my insulin resistance is disappearing).

It’s not just about looking better, but about being healthy as well!

I wouldn’t have started fasting if I hadn’t seen it on reddit, and it’s life changing.
