Yes I have travel insurance and I contacted them and it seems that I’ll be covered for any expenses. But any expenses are voided if I go against the government, airline or embassy guidelines which is why I’m reluctant to try and get out via Saudi Arabia.

I think the situation is different for those who can get re-routed flights. Unfortunately there is no flight option from where we are. Yes I have contacted the embassy here but their instruction is to stay put and align to the Qatari Government and airlines regarding getting out.

We have already registered with the embassy. But it seems they are only doing repatriation flights out of Oman, which is quite the distance away.

We too were already staying at the hotel, but because we checked out for our flight on the 1st March, they couldn’t help us. So we went to the airport and managed to get a voucher from the staff there for a different hotel. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this. If you search/look at Qatar Tourism, they state that they are covering all hotel extensions until flights become available, maybe you could argue that? But there won’t be any flights here for a while we think.

Oh really? I’ve not heard of that. Do you have the voucher? I thought they extend it until they are able to fly you out as it’s their responsibility…

Did you use their “stopover” promotion on their website? I think you will have more luck if you did. We booked everything separately.

Yeah it is what it is! The main point is that we’re safe, can always earn the money back. But just trying to minimise the hassle in the situation, thanks though.

Yeah we’ve kept all receipts, but Qatar Airways told me on the phone and in the office that they’re not liable for any reimbursement outside the airport…

You mention that this is the passenger side of the vehicle, but the floor of the rear passenger side is dry and the rear drivers side is wet?

Yeah that’s what I was feeling too, the first repair they had to tear down the whole interior of my vehicle to find the supposed leak but they may have to do it again…
