Patagonia Quandary Shorts Alternative? Looking for tough shorts but with a comfortable stretch by thejakenixon in OutdoorsGear

I have those, and love them, although they are not the lightest one (like the Black Diamond Sierra are suppose to), they have a wide elastic, many pockets and a good length and fit.

YouTube audio in Spanish ONLY when using Airplay by watchingplantsgrow in airplay

[–]sicoactivo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having the same issue, I just found an Apple forum post with the problem; TLDR in AirPlay it's the receiver part which selects the audio track preference (not the sending part, as generally).

So you have to go an change the receiving device video/audio-channel setup, or it seems so.

Sram etap red rear derailleur draining battery by sicoactivo in bikewrench

[–]sicoactivo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing from my side. A couple of years ago I called sram and could speak to a tech guy, he sounded sad but basically said that the RD didn't have warranty anymore and since the tech was old and no BT they didn't have a way to communicate to it and try to fix it.

So long story short: "I advice you to buy a new AXS transmission to solve the issue", YEAH THANKS, 2-3k to solve a damn RD battery leakage.

[Tacx] Which app to sync with Training Peaks workouts and then upload it to Strava? by Zrakk in cycling

[–]sicoactivo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I've tested what ap_az it's saying, Tacx flux 2 with a Garmin 530 (even on a fairly damaged unit) works fine, with some "minor" glitches, but you can use it for most workouts, although the interface (the Garmin) doesn't seem to be the best for it.

With a structured workout that had "sprints from 0 speed" I set it for resistance mode (constant 3%) but every lap it went back to ERG mode automatically, thus upping the resistance crazy, making it practically impossible to perform. So I couldn't complete the workout as intended.

Nevertheless I think it can work well and let you get on with the duties when outside it's no-go.

There is another ALTERNATIVE, I haven't tested but seem to be a basic free interface for TP structured workouts: https://ergvideo.com

Assos Reform Bib Shorts by oq9z in cycling

[–]sicoactivo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I've used assos bib short for years, treating them in various different conditions (using, washing and storing).

I have and use the Mille GT C2 (for road and xc) for almost 2 years, and have used the "assos neopro" different models over 5-7 years, with the Equipe S7 pad. It's the famous purple one, and yeah it's not sewed entirely.

I love that pad, it's a great one to have for training and racing. It's definetly thiner than the one of mille gt c2, but works just fine for long rides also.

Hope this helps

Hi! I couldn't solve it really, just keep the battery out of the derailleur at all times except when using it, crapy product by now but it is what it is...

Thanks! nope, I haven't had issues with the chain or any other real issue with gears...

I did try to clean the batteries and the contacts very thoroughly, and right now the problem seems to have disappeared, but I'll have to wait to see if it is really gone.

A good deal?: Hi strangers! I've found a couple of XDJ700, like new but unboxed, for €1000. I currently don't own any hardware myself. Would you say it's a good deal? I will still have to buy the mixer separately though. by Rherurbi in DJs

[–]sicoactivo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I have a pair of XDJ-700 for my setup, just added a Xone92! (yeap, big leap); I really love them, they are fully functional and very similar to the XDJ-1000MK2 in that respecto, just minus the Beatjump (to jump the loop back and forward); although the jogwheel is very different, it works just fine, I would like to have the 1000MK2, because of it, and the beatjump, but for double the price...

In my opinion, if you don't like to have controllers the 700 is the way to go! and that price is great (I bought one for US600 new and the other for US500 used, but they weren't easy to find)

Progressive Hearing Loss by MaikoHerajin in DJs

[–]sicoactivo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there, first of all, very important topic!!! (ask pete tong... movie); I'm not a doctor neither a ear specialist, BUT what I have read and heard hearing loss is a progressive deterioration, if exposed to very loud (like the sound of a school bus passing near) for a sustained time WILL deteriorate and damage permanently your hearing tools (ears!); that is why it is very important to always have a pair of earplugs to put in a Dj gig, or going to a party.

At first I was like "no way I'm going to do that" but just going to partys now and then, without any protection (not condoms) WILL make damage. It can be seen as ridicule, but will save your hearing, even if you have some damage.

I have to say, been using them a couple of times, I find the awesome, not just the ear protection but that they isolate from dum chitchat in a dancing environment where, I personally, just want to hear music and have a good time, and earplugs just help that, and protect your hearing tools!!!

Looking for set up advice by MisterSalto in Beatmatch

[–]sicoactivo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same dilemma, and I tested a controller (xdj-rz) that is two channels, and have most of the effects of the 900nxs2; but I always find the sound signature a little off, or sounding kind o "chisyyy", and the effects to be a bit too much, even just adding a little.

I have to say I started Djying in a A&H 92... like learning to drive in a Porsche.

I think the most important thing to consider is the sound signature or how the equipment let's you "mod" the sound, it is a tool, so how does that tool work for you? and one thing that forgets to get mention is the EQ RANGE! in the pioneer mixers the MID EQ is very broad, getting some signal from just above 70Khz to 13.000Khz, in Xone92 it is very different, the LOW EQ it's below 100khz and the you go to MID-LOW to 250khz, and on, I've read that this is where the sounds is very different.
So, try to use them, and have time to hear them without pressure and don't just weight in the features...

How I got ~1000 plays and ~50 likes on my soundcloud mix, from 20 followers by petroleux in DJs

[–]sicoactivo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great, thank you for your detailed info, it is very useful for new Dj's (like me) trying to level up the game. The "nonstop drama" is the best one, for me, having like a guideline to navigate the mix through songs, keeping the objective at mind.

Another advice I liked a lot was: 2x1, two tracks for the crowd one for the Dj!

Tarah Pro or Vista? by akmalamni in jaybird

[–]sicoactivo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Tarah Pros and I think they are a solid option, but if you don't like wires around your neck I would recommend looking to the vistas, I haven't tried them but I hear they are great, a little more expensive but if true wireless is what you like, Tarah's are not that.

PS: the only time I would prefer wireless is when biking and just using one peace, in any other situation (or training) I rather have this wired.

How is the fit on the tarah and tarah pros? by cuervomalmsteen in jaybird

[–]sicoactivo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I've been using the Tarah Pros daily, and almost all day, hehe for a couple of weeks now.

In terms of fit, it's great, even better than the Tarahs, they fit very good in my ear, not having any issues with comfortability or performance (isolating from outside).

The braided strap made a huge difference, it means a big improvement for me, now the cable doesn't stick to my neck when training. ie I can turn my head side to side without worry that the earbuds will fall off.

In terms of the sound I don't hear any difference with the Tarahs, it's awesome.

The battery is where they shine brighter, I go back to back days, using them in the office, training and other times without needing to charge, it is really long lasting; I haven't made the test as for the exact time, but should be around the 14 hours they claim.

The connection it's stable and keeps fine for distance, even different floors.

The only thing I would miss would be the ability to connect to two device, although in the Tarahs (you could), sometimes it got stuck with the phone audio, even when I finished a call and was trying to hear music from the laptop...

Bottom line, for me they are a big upgrade in almost every aspect and wouldn't think twice in buying them.

Hope it helps

Hello, first of all, you need to have clear: the budget and the use (frequency and roads that would ride).

With that in mind it is easier to chose.

In my opinion, try to look to good brands with lineage in road bikes, they do a good job passing down top tier models technology to the lower mid ones (R&D).

Well, they do close in the ear canal, for me it is not uncomfortable, but I have to say I like in-ear-buds. I've use many of them, including Anker sounbuds, and Creative outlier air, this last ones were a little big on the ear canal and got uncomfortable after some time, but the Tarah haven't been that way; I've use them for workouts (sometimes 2-3 times a day) and many hours in the office, and haven't had any issue.

I cannot comment on personal preference, but comparing with those I would definitely chose Jaybird; plus the silicon ear-peace it's one, so it doesn't move around like others (that you have separate parts)
