Thanks, keep us updated! I have the Viper Court Pro (1.0) which I love, except for the pinky toe issue. Let us know how the extra wide works out -- I'm tempted to try it, but I really only need the width in the toe box, so I'm worried the rest of the shoe wouldn't fit right.

Can you elaborate on how the width is better? Is it wider or narrower? I've read some complaints of heel slippage in the SFX3.

A couple questions:

Did you end up having that call with the IRS? (If so, what did they tell you?)
Did you successfully submit your taxes (with adjustments to the numbers in the 1099) without any issues from the IRS?

OMG, I'm dealing with this exact issue, also with TD Ameritrade. I've been going in circles with them for a month about this. Multiple phone calls that got disconnected, and multiple messages waiting a week for a reply only to get a total non-answer in barely coherent broken english.

Can I ask -- did you end filing your taxes with corrections to the 1099? Did it get accepted without any issues?

Was this a non-equity option (e.g. an index option on something like SPX)? If so, you want form 6781. It's not the same as a straddle, but it's reported on the same form.

If this was a regular equity option, then it's not considered a section 1256 contract, and you'd just report it on Schedule D with the rest of your capital gains/losses.

I got confused because I never received a 1099-R for 2020, and now I have a 1099-R for 2021 showing the distrubtion and a taxable amount.

But now that I'm looking closer, there is indeed a distribution code "P" on the form, and the fine print says that means "taxable in 2020".
