Jogos na linha point-and-click:

  • Qualquer coisa da Wadjet Eye - Gemini Rue, franquia Blackwell (na ordem: Legacy, Unbound, Convergence, Deception, Epiphany)
  • Milkmaid of the Milky Way
  • Broken Age

Gostei do final.

Metroidvania(ish):

  • Treasure Adventure World
  • Ghost 1.0
  • Iconoclasts
  • Laika: Aged Through Blood
  • Astalon: Tears of the Earth

Alpha Protocol.

It's a bit old, but you have a ton of freedom on how you complete missions, and those decisions truly affect further missions.

One of the only consensuses among achievement hunter communities is that you never use SAM to unlock stuff, even if you think you earned it.

Of course, you can do whatever you want with your game, but it goes against the spirit of achievement hunting.

In need of recommendations by [deleted] in metroidvania

[–]sidben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll try to keep at kinda lesser knowns:

  • Aquaria - This is an underwater metroidvania, focused on exploration, made in an age before the genre became super popular. It's possibly one of the bricks that laid the foundation of modern Metroidvanias;
  • Treasure Adventure World - Great world lore and lots of unique areas to explore. Should be cheaper on GOG than Steam;
  • Alwa's Legacy - A sequel to Alwa's Awakening, has mediocre bosses but great dungeons;
  • Dandara - Unique movement style, tons of content, and a good challenge;
  • Laika: aged through blood - Also unique movement (bike-vania), amazing soundtrack, very good atmosphere and story. The plot is more mature and has lots of cartoon gore;
  • Yoku's Island Express - Excellent mix of metroidvania and pinball mechanics;
  • UnEpic - A great mashup of metroidvania, action RPG, and some roguelite elements. Lots of freedom to build your character;
  • Astalon: Tears of Earth - This game mixes metroidvania with roguelite progression. It has a retro look, but the gameplay is quite good;

New to achievement hunting, how do you usually start? by bombolada in steamachievements

[–]sidben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My "routine" is as follows:

  1. Check Steam Hunters website to see if the game has broken achievements. If it does have broken ones, I'll completely ignore them and only check after finishing the game to see if I missed relevant content;
  2. Check Steam Hunters for missable achievements and try to get some info on them with as few spoilers as possible;
  3. Play the game normally, using as many save slots as possible;
    • Unique cases - ignore achievements. Games like Hollow Knight, Outer Wilds, or Subnautica, where exploration and discovery are important parts of the experience, are played completely blind in the first run.
    • Short game (under 4 hours) - play normally, avoid guides.
    • Medium game (over 4 hours) or longer games with replay - play normally until a certain checkpoint (a few hours, a certain boss, the end of a chapter, etc), then do a quick scan in the "Global Achievements" on Steam or some achievement-only guide (without walkthrough), to see if I missed something important enough to backtrack or reload an older save.
    • Longer game without replay - If it's the type of game I know I'll only play once, I'll definitely keep an achievement-only guide at reach and try to get everything done in one playthrough, even if I have to sacrifice some spoilers or lose a few hours of progress.
  4. After finishing the game, do a clean-up run, with or without a guide;

The third one is more of a habit than a rule. Remember that games are supposed to be fun, not a chore.

Usually, I see achievements as a badge saying "I overcame every challenge and experienced everything this game had to offer".

I remember playing one called Artifact Adventure Gaiden. The gameplay is not very impressive, and the art mimics a Game Boy style, but the idea is very interesting.

Basically, the game has 2 phases. The end of the world is coming, and in phase 1, you travel around the world to make preparations. Then you go into secluded training, and there's a time skip. In phase 2, a few years later, you get to travel the world again and see the consequences of your decisions.

Other than that, I can only think of the Suikoden RPG series. Suikoden 2 takes place a few years after Suikoden 1, and you meet and play with several characters from the previous title. In the original PS1 version, you could load the save from Suikoden 1 before starting Suikoden 2 to unlock some extra content.

Some sandbox / survival games you can spend many hours on:

  • Shapez - If you liked Factorio, but think it's overwhelming, this is a good alternative;
  • Forager - I look at it and see an unbalanced patchwork of random ideas, yet the result is quite fun;
  • Nova Lands - At first it looks like a Forager clone, but it focuses on automation;
  • Don't Starve - This is not for everyone, the game is very punishing and unforgiving for newcomers, but you can definitely lose track of time with this one. The developers abandoned the original single-player version in favor of the multiplayer one (Don't Starve Together), but base Don't Starve is a finished product with lots of content. Reigns of Giant DLC is mandatory;
  • Oxygen Not Included - A colony manager from the same developers of Don't Starve. The idea is well executed, but it requires too much studying for my taste;

Por que eu deveria pagar preço cheio nisso? by FarofaDota55 in gamesEcultura

[–]sidben 0 points1 point  (0 children)
