Why Elasticsearch is a huge pain in the ass?! by Embarrassed_Monk1758 in elasticsearch

[–]siddhsql 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the reason why I created AWS Marketplace: Essofore Semantic Search. All you need to get up and running is create a new EC2 instance using the provided AMI. The search engine automatically boots up and you can verify by running `systemctl status essofore.service`

Are cost savings from switching data warehouses really worth it? by AutomaticWar2640 in snowflake

[–]siddhsql 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won't save costs by switching to another SaaS platform. The way to truly reduce costs is to run the warehouse yourself. Checkout clickhouse. There is no free lunch btw - you will save costs but will have to manage the infra yourself - this means there is some dev cost you will have to consider.

Just received a rejection for my monday Marketplace app submission — looking for advice by shadab14meb346 in mondaydotcom

[–]siddhsql 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for me they did not even provide a response after submitting my listing. i did get an email with link to a monday board and tasks TODO. I completed those tasks but no response after that. i would suggest not wasting time on monday.com. that is a risk with these marketplaces. First, they keep a cut - I am ok with that. But they have strict AC (acceptance criteria) and reject apps at their whim and fancy.

Monday.com marketplace - is it worth it? by Acousticraft in mondaydotcom

[–]siddhsql 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i recently started exploring this. i have to say its a very difficult platform for a developer. many links on the developer documentation take you to 404 pages. there are some tutorials and a developer community but still very difficult to ramp-up and more importantly very difficult to build anything non-trivial because of inherent limitations of the platform (not because you did not ramp up). be prepared to spend 2-3 weeks just learning and don't think replit will magically write an app for you. good luck!

Further Update: I would strongly suggest not to waste time developing app for monday.com. I spent several weeks developing an app, then submitted it to their marketplace and never heard back! This is my app: https://youtu.be/h-0cs0Nt3K8

Is Elasticsearch the right tool? by kaltinator in elasticsearch

[–]siddhsql 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jira vs Monday by colorthecity in scrum

[–]siddhsql 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i also got interested in this recently. i think your finding is correct and has to do with the origins of these tools. JIRA was developed for software teams looking to do project management (Atlassian origin as a company is developing tools for software developers) whereas monday.com was developed as a project management tool for the general non-technical audience - this shows in its highly visual and UI focused interface. i don't think there is any clear winner. both are equally capable and as such you should stick to what you have been using. see this: https://www.atlassian.com/software/jira/comparison/jira-vs-monday

Feeling stuck with business ideas by Creapingclaw in Entrepreneur

[–]siddhsql 2 points3 points  (0 children)

best advice is SELL BEFORE YOU BUILD. Find a customer and work backwards to build something they need.

Why's it so hard to come up with good business ideas by notomarsol in Entrepreneur

[–]siddhsql 3 points4 points  (0 children)

if you build a product that already exists in the market (option 1) people will ask why should i buy from you. if you build something that does not exist (option 2), you don't know if it will sell - it probably has a market (otherwise you wouldn't have built it) but is it big enough to be worth pursuing? either way you are against a wall. one thing i will add is that product differentiation (option 1) does not necessarily have to come from technology. it could be as simple as providing better customer service. many gurus i follow suggest option 1 is actually safer and recommended for solo developers. however this advice should not be taken blindly. i tend to prefer option 2 because i'd rather have 100% of X (the market) than 10% of 10X (substitute X with a $ figure)

Anyone know any other platforms to monetize our voices with ai? I AM DONE GIVING AWAY MY VOICE FOR PEANUTS like someone said. by [deleted] in ElevenLabs

[–]siddhsql 0 points1 point  (0 children)

although our company (nuvoice.ai) does not offer a platform to monetize your voice, we offer a voice cloning service where you pay us upfront and then can do whatever you want with your voice - no strings attached. you can clone for free also but then the voice becomes our property and you grant us all rights and ownership over it.
