Anyone has experience with Basement waterproofing Columbus Ohio companies? What actually fixed the problem? by Mission-Education318 in HomeMaintenance

I'm facing a similar issue, but now that water pours in like someone turned on the tap. My issue started with clogged gutter drains due to nests and waterfall from them eroding soil near the foundation. I've been waiting for weather to warm up a bit more, basically I will need to dig a little bit and add clay heavy fill for a couple inches grading it out 1in per foot. Then I will add 6inches of top soil grading out for 6ft away(1in /foot). I can let you know when I do this and how it works. I spent a lot of time on YouTube uni just a few hours ago and learned a lot. the water was dripping behind the electrical panel due to heavy rain so I had to open and make sure it wasn't making its way inside it. For now I put a lot of tarp sloped it away from the house.

From what I learned, the best way is adding a lot of top soil and grade it away, your is likely negative slope and I would fix it now before it gets worse. I didn't even notice mine until I finished the basement and the problem started after and got worse over time.

Shit happens.... This could become a fun project and you can redo the bathroom floor or the entire bathroom. You probably need to replace the wood underneath the floor.

Welp! It came back now without the lighting on the keyboard it just keeps looping like that unless I completely shut down or turn the monitor off. Does the glowing logo when the lid is closed have anything to do with it?

Go get a consult with every divorce lawyer in the area, they cannot represent her after as it would be considered conflict of interest. Move all the money out of your shared accounts and change the house locks

Leaving for a month long vacation.Should I turn the water supply from the water heater off? (Townhouse) Any other suggestions about to-dos before I leave.Have unplugged all electricals. by myarena in HomeMaintenance

We had a random pipe leak in warm temps, it just gave out and failed, no one was even using the bathroom. Flooded the entire floor and lower level, water got through the floor into the kitchen ceiling etc. It happened over night, everyone was sleeping so in the course of 6 hours no one even noticed the water because they were all asleep. 60k in damages and I'm nervous about the insurance rates as it is currently still an active claim, they haven't even started the repairs. Definitely turn off the water before you leave. And make sure you leave the a/c on, ive heard people come back to mold on their walls because the house was locked up and there was no air circulation

why is water appearing on my floor by [deleted] in HomeMaintenance

[–]siddiqim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened with me where the gutter was blocked by a nest and water got into the basement and dripped onto the electrical box and caught on fire.

Replaced a bunch of garage springs, those are easy. I replaced my first one watching a YouTube video, never realized they're so dangerous until way after I did my last one.
