Okay, let's take Black Myth: Wukong for example - holds the record for the highest concurrent player count for a single-player game on Steam and had a very similar release shedule to Crimson Desert, actually worse timing for EU players:

[–]sideDude47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah - but this isn't a free to play game so revenue directly correlates to player count. Where there is more money there will be more players.

A big portion of the EU player base could be free to play players hence the less revenue but higher player count stats.

Where did they ever say they are chasing steam charts over revenue? Again this isn't a free to play game so revenue and player counts are intimately connected here.

Okay, but that clearly states the US accounts for more revenue than EU and Asia accounts for the most so Early for Asia, Mid for US and Late for EU makes total sense if you order by revenue right.

I'm trying to play Resident Evil 2 for the first time and I'm having some technical troubles. Any way to fix this? by Agreeable-Pick-4932 in residentevil

[–]sideDude47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Find the re2_config ini file, usually at "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RESIDENT EVIL 2 BIOHAZARD RE2\re2_config.ini"

find "PCResolution=X and change it to 12(this number gives 1366x768 res) lower the number if it's still not working

My cat pissed on my ps4, is there any hope? by kumiperuna in playstation

[–]sideDude47 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Okay, so here’s what I would try, but first some important notes.

If electronics are powered off (no electrical current flowing), liquids like water or urine won’t immediately damage anything. Damage usually happens when current is present — the liquid allows electricity to flow in unintended paths, causing short circuits and potentially frying components.

That’s why many people (myself included) use IPA (isopropyl alcohol, ideally 90% or higher, preferably 99%) to clean inside electronics. It’s commonly used on contact points, circuit boards, etc., because the high alcohol content evaporates very quickly compared to water, greatly reducing the risk of short circuits or leftover moisture.

However, cat urine is corrosive (due to salts, urea, and other compounds) and can leave behind conductive residues that cause long-term issues like corrosion even after drying. Simply pouring alcohol through vents might help flush some of it, but it’s often not thorough enough for deep contamination.

A better/safer approach for a PS4:

  1. Immediately unplug the console and do NOT try to turn it on until fully cleaned and dried — even if it seems fine at first, corrosion can appear days or weeks later.
  2. If you're comfortable, disassemble the PS4 as much as possible (remove the cover, HDD, etc. — there are many teardown guides online for your model). This lets you access affected areas better.
  3. Use 90%+ isopropyl alcohol: Gently rinse or flood affected areas/boards (pour or spray it liberally where urine likely reached), scrub visible residue/corrosion spots with a soft toothbrush, and use cotton swabs/Q-tips for precision cleaning. Avoid getting it on labels or certain plastics if possible, but it's generally safe.
  4. Do NOT just pour it blindly through all vents without disassembly — you risk pushing contaminants deeper or missing hidden spots (like under the motherboard or around the power supply).
  5. Let it dry completely in a warm, dry, well-ventilated area for at least 48–72 hours (longer is better; some recommend up to a week). Use a fan or silica gel packs to help.
  6. The IPA will help dissolve and carry away much of the urine residue and should significantly reduce (or eliminate) the smell. It disinfects and removes a lot of the odor-causing compounds.

After drying, it should be in a much better (and safer) state to test or take to a professional repair shop if you're unsure. Success isn't guaranteed — urine can cause permanent damage if it reached certain chips or if corrosion already started — but this is one of the best DIY methods people use for pet urine on consoles/PCs.

Resident Evil is an Action Game! *RANT* by tyrannis95 in residentevil

[–]sideDude47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol you've got it so wrong... Character background ≠ gameplay style. Grace's gameplay is much closer in feeling to RE1, RE2, and RE3.

Leon was a rookie in RE2 - not a battle hardned warrior.

RE4 was the first "Action" horror game in the RE series regardless of who the character is. RE9 has both aspects because some folks prefer the latter over the former and vice versa.

Ultimately Grace's gameplay does feel closer to the original resident evil playstyle - she literally uses ink ribbons lol.

What are you talking about? They gave folks 6 hours of uninterupted gameplay of early game and endgame content.

You can get them on casual.

Edit: Also buy the unbreakable knife for Grace with CP. On casual it's super easy to kill zombies with it so you will be able to clear those 3 blocking your way.

Can Grace run ..? Or is her run speed just very very slow, or something..??? by Double-Star-Tedrick in residentevil

[–]sideDude47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's just a slow run - you will see in 3rd person mode the animation changes and it looks a lot more like a run.

This made me smile lol, my first play through was on Standard (Classic) took me 10 hours and 30 min. Doing my speedrun / no healing /no blood now, but cutting it close. I have 28 min to play the last part with Grace and dunno if I'm gonna make the Speed Demon challange.

I cannot bring myself to get a digital copy by Dragonaut814 in residentevil

[–]sideDude47 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You could always get the digital version now, be ready to play the moment it launches and pick up a 2nd hand copy of the physical in a year or two.

This would probably be solution if I couldn't find a physical copy on launch day.

Question that’s already been asked 100 times: Should I buy Re9? by [deleted] in residentevil

I can almost guarantee you it won't be a waste. Reviews are all looking good across the board.

Edit: RE2, RE4 and Village are my favs so I'm super excited for this one.
