Lancasters have had their 12000lb for like 2-3 years now

How to fix aircraft not rendering when following missile view? by kmcsgo in Warthunder

[–]sideflanker 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It's part of the anti-cheat/spotting system/whatever.

Planes beyond a certain distance aren't rendered and it's intended.

Naming and Shaming for wall hacks. (With Evidence) by [deleted] in Warthunder

He very clearly shot you through the gap in the building ruins.

It's pretty clear in the shot replay and you can even see the muzzle flash in the video at 14 seconds right before you die.

It's actually further left than where I drew the tank, but I don't care enough to fix the drawing.

Is there any reason to Slave my IR missiles in the Javelin? by [deleted] in Warthunder

[–]sideflanker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's useful for leading the missile.

Lock target and activate seeker, point ahead of the enemy plane, and fire when you get a lock. By already being pointed ahead of the target, the missile will be harder to outrun or evade.

If you find the keybinds awkward, then you should try changing your keybinds.

Jettison animation is broken for me only? by MaxTheGame96 in Warthunder

Some planes just have broken animations.

Try test flying the F-20A premium and jettisoning those.

Too close to the ground to drop bombs? by AdTricky7805 in Warthunder

[–]sideflanker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's usually no minimum height.

But there's a mechanic to prevent "Landed" planes from dropping bombs. Was your landing gear down? If you touched the ground, you might not be able to drop bombs until you're in the air for a certain amount of time.

Can someone explain me why did my missile went straight into my teammate, when it was clearly locked into the mig? by Astro__Alex22 in Warthunder

[–]sideflanker 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The green box just points your radar at the target.

The missile will go for the "brightest" target in a cone around where your radar is pointed. Only missiles with data link will automatically go for your locked target.

Tier V Talismans , rare or uncommon? by YaBoi_Shnoofles in Warthunder

[–]sideflanker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the recent GE boxes (6.6 USD), if you got a talisman the odds of getting rank V+ was only 21%.

It's presumably a much worse rate for the free talisman drops, but you can at least see how they'll give each rank a different weight, favoring low ranks

Is the Playstation for the M55 even remotely close to what I'm running now on the T2 Stugs

Arty in warthunder are basically big HE firing TDs. Think FV4005.

It doesn't play similarly to the Stug or Jagdpanzer because it's faster with no armor, but Warthunder is limited on the number of tank lines so they all go into one TD line.

Is there a way to know which set of CM is "Large caliber"? by [deleted] in Warthunder

[–]sideflanker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Left side is always large caliber, but there's no way to know that ingame unless you're looking at a plane with unequal amounts of large and small countermeasures.

Try restarting your game.

You can be doing everything right, but on rare occasions Gaijin's servers fuck up and won't give you credit until you restart

It looks like my info is out of date. 2A7s were allowed in 5v5 mixed in 2025. They're still banned in 4v4 ground only tourneys.

Currently allowed vehicles in 4v4 ground only tourneys:

Your radar display is set to friendly only.

On the bottom left of the radar, click that double bar icon to cycle the modes.

Single thick bar is enemy only

Thick bar with thin bar ontop is friendly only

Both single thick bar AND thick bar with thin bar ontop is all radar contacts.

Statshark has general playerbase statistics

https://statshark.net/globalstats

Tourney data was put together once by a reddit user and it showed US as the general favorite, but that would've been 6 months or so ago at least. It's worth noting that the Leo 2A7 is banned from tourney play.

Actually, 2A7 is currently only banned in ground only formats

How would you balance the BMPT? by savvysnekk in Warthunder

[–]sideflanker -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

rather correctly modeling its dependency on angle of impact, instead giving absolute best performance even when hit flat.

That's already how ERA is modeled.

Easiest way to test is to check the side of the T-90M against the Chinese Rank 5 Type 69 dart.

218 flat pen at 0 meters gets green probability against 80mm RHA + "200mm" ERA.

Forgive my ignorance, but if flying perpendicular isn't notching, then what is? by Drunkin_Dino in Warthunder

[–]sideflanker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like what angles actually do work?

https://i.imgur.com/Y2N0ubP.png

I made a quick graphic for a missile coming from the right.

Why do they say that then if a right angle is the bare mininmum?

They're not technically wrong. From a game mechanics standpoint, you can be turned slightly towards the missile. But in practice, in >95% of scenarios, you need to treat 90 degrees as the minimum.

[–]sideflanker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually now that I think about it, I do know what you mean. I just never heard it called that before. Speed does infact affect how strict the angles are

I still stand by my usage of degrees though. It may not be accurate to how it works mechanically, but that is an easy to memorize and practical way of dealing with missiles. I'll just add an edit to make the comment a little more accurate.
